The videos of Holm knocking out Rousey display what Ronda initially predicted would happen when Rousey met with Holm on November 14. As noted by the Bleacher Report, Ronda spoke with Jimmy Fallon about her fight with Holm back in October, as seen in the below video that was uploaded to YouTube on October 7.
“Ronda Rousey runs down her UFC 193 opponent Holly Holm’s biggest advantages and challenges Jimmy to a Mario Kart rematch.”
Ronda Rousey spoke about Holly Holm being a tough opponent who would likely try to take Rousey down with a head-kick knockout, and that’s exactly what Holm did to Rousey. Ronda Rousey called Holly Holm the type of fighter you have to be patient with, and Rousey predicted the type of fight that Holm would bring — and even though Rousey said her fight wouldn’t go like that, with Holm knocking her out with a kick to the head — that’s exactly how the fight went down.
In the video showing Holm knocking out Rousey with a kick to the head, viewers can see that Ronda Rousey is already injured and bloody before being knocked out. After the knockout fight was done, Rousey was transported to the hospital for an examination, as reported by the Associated Press. UFC chief Dana White explained that Ronda Rousey was taken to the hospital because of the knockout kick, and that being knocked out seriously affected Rousey’s mood.
“She was transported (to hospital) because she got knocked out. Obviously she’s completely bummed out and depressed.”

Rousey being knocked out was definitely a shocker for fans. Suggested search terms on YouTube show that the fighter is known for winning. Such terms as ‘Rousey 16-second knockout” and “Ronda Rousey 14-second fight” also showcase that Ronda’s 14-second fight against Cat Zingano has been the stuff of Rousey’s legend, as reported by the Bleacher Report.
Now, in place of those search terms, the videos of Rousey’s first loss and head-kick knockout are turning up on such a grand scale that they will likely replace the former YouTube suggestions for Rousey, based upon searches by viewers.
The much-anticipated fight between Holly and Ronda took place in Melbourne, Australia on November 14. It was one day after the tragic attacks in Paris claimed the lives of more than 100 people and injured hundreds more; therefore, attention on the sporting event may have been lost for a time.Holm, meanwhile, can be seen in the headlining Associated Press photo celebrating her win over Rousey, who appears completely dejected and defeated, bloody and battered. The UFC 193 Bantamweight title fight is still drawing lots of attention after the fact, since it is the first time that Rousey has lost.
Reactions to Ronda’s first loss across social media often couple Rousey’s name with Floyd Mayweather, Jr. The fighters do occasionally go back and forth, with Mayweather being called Ronda’s nemesis, as reported by Yahoo Sports.
