Khloe Kardashian Fears Telling Lamar Odom That Drug Overdose Caused Devastating Brain Injury: Can He Fully Recover?
Khloe Kardashian has been doing all she can to support her husband Lamar Odom as he fights his way to recovery after being found unconscious in a brothel in Nevada. Most recently, chatting with Ellen DeGeneres, Khloe revealed how she really feels about Odom, reported Us Weekly.
“I’m there helping him and I love him and I’ve always loved him,” said Kardashian. “And that will never change.”
As for why Khloe called off the almost-finalized divorce between herself and Lamar, the 31-year-old kept her explanation simple.
“I just feel like it’s a really insensitive thing to fast-forward a divorce,”emphasized Kardashian.
Going into more details about what his recovery entails, Khloe revealed that Lamar does not even know what caused him to be forced to learn all over again how to do simple acts such as feed himself and walk at 36. Kardashian fears telling Odom the truth, because she’s worried about how he might react to the devastating news that it was his own use of drugs and booze that caused his medical crisis.
“We tell him that he had a brain injury, but we can’t tell him how that brain injury was caused, because that will set him back,” added Kardashian.
It’s been a long journey since Odom was discovered unconscious from what reportedly was a mixture of alcohol, cocaine, and herbal Viagra. And the impact of that combination of booze and drugs continues to impact Lamar, says Kardashian.
“He’s really confused a lot — sometimes he knows who the president is and his birthday, and sometimes he thinks he’s 26, and I say I bet you wish you were 26, so do I!” said the 31-year-old of her 36-year-old husband.
“He’s [Harden] fine with it. I mean, we have to communicate a lot. And he’s really supportive and great,” said Kardashian.
Joking with Ellen DeGeneres about the situation of juggling a boyfriend with a husband, Khloe termed herself to be a polygamist, reported People.
“Part of polygamy,” summed up Kardashian of how she viewed her situation. “I have a husband. I have a boyfriend. That’s a way easier thing to say. Right?”
However, Ellen gently corrected the reality TV star.
“Okay, if that’s what you want me to call you I will – no, but I think that’s many husbands, isn’t it? So you’re not really a polygamist,” clarified the talk show host.
But when it comes to the severity of that husband’s health, Khloe’s sister Kim Kardashian also is weighing in on just how Lamar is doing, reported Yahoo.
The pregnant wife of Kanye West also noted that Odom may never fully recover.
“He has a lot of work to do and a lot of communication therapy and having to learn to walk again and to talk again. You never know if he’ll ever be the same again.”
Khloe has cancelled the divorce for now, but Kim emphasizes that to the Kardashian family, Odom will remain family.
“Lamar is family and he’ll always be family, we’ll always do what we can to help take care of him, and protect him, and be there for him,” added Kardashian. “I just encourage people to keep on praying because the road is nowhere near over.”
