Yvette Wilson: ‘Moesha’ Star Dead At 48


Yvette Wilson, former star of the television show “Moesha”, has officially passed away at the age of 48.

As reported previously by NewsOne, Wilson was battling stage 4 cervical cancer and was in desperate need of money to continue paying the medical bills that would allow her to continue the fight against the already advanced cancer.

Also plagued with kidney problems, the young actresses health was quickly diminishing as she desperately sought the financial help needed to rid her of the illnesses.

Wilson’s friend, Jeffrey Pittle, created a website for people to donate money to help with her medical bills and aid in the costs associated with her cancer. The website raised only 56% of the $25,000 needed.

“Moesha” co-star Shar Jackson took to Twitter asking for support and encouragement for her close friend as her cancer worsened and began to take over.

“@SharJackson: Everyone plz send prayer and light to my sister and best friend Yvette Wilson…..” she tweeted on June 11th.

Late last night, Shar followed with tweets during Wilson’s final hours.

“F**k Cancer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

“Oh god….. My heart is soooo unbelievably broken ….”, she continued.

In a final comment regarding the “Moesha” star, Jackson tweeted her disappointment and sadness as she revealed that the cancer had indeed got the best of her close friend Yvette Wilson.

Yvette Wilson was born March 16th, 1964 in Los Angeles, California. Wilson began her career in comedy when she lost a bet to a friend and had to perform as a stand-up comedian at a local club, launching her career as a successful actress and comedian.
