Is Meek Mill Hurting Nicki Minaj’s Reputation? Fans Say ‘Anaconda’ Rapper Was Better Off With Ex

Nicki Minaj is never shy when it comes to posting on social media, but it looks like Minaj’s abrupt disappearance from Instagram and Twitter has fans worried. Although it’s only been one week since Nicki Minaj came under fire for reportedly making fun of a disabled person in a video posted to her Instagram account, Nicki’s fans are growing increasingly concerned about the reason behind Minaj’s sudden social media absence.

A source close to Nicki Minaj revealed to Urban Islandz on Monday that Nicki is taking some time away from Instagram and Twitter to record some new music and take “some personal time for herself.”

“After constantly being on the road and always working sometimes you need to take some time off to work on your personal life.”

Minaj’s source goes on to argue that Nicki has taken a brief absence from tweeting and posting photos in order to spend time with family and begin working on recording another album, but it appears Nicki Minaj’s fans have another theory as to why Nicki may be uncharacteristically silent on her social media pages.

While some fans speculate that Nicki Minaj and Meek Mill may be taking some time away from social media to move in together, others argue that Nicki is trying to distance herself from fans who continue to bash her ongoing relationship with Meek Mill.

Minaj’s fans took to Twitter and Instagram to criticize Nicki’s relationship with Meek after the “R.I.C.O.” rapper sparked an online feud with Wale last month. Meek’s latest round of social media spats comes just months after Mill accused Nicki’s close friend and label mate Drake of using a ghostwriter on his album, prompting an all-out diss war to occur between Minaj’s boyfriend and best friend.

While Meek Mill continues to make enemies in the rap community, Nicki’s fans are growing concerned that Meek’s actions are beginning to reflect negatively on Nicki’s reputation.

One fan blasts Nicki Minaj for dating Meek Mill, arguing that, “I’m not even a fan anymore! Bad career move in my book,” while another warns, “Nicki please take notes, just know when you and Meek break up hes gonna be on twitter airing you out too boo.”

Similarly, some of Nicki’s fans argue that Minaj was better off with former longtime boyfriend Safaree Samuels than her current relationship with Meek Mill.

“Nicki Showed Her Fans More Attention When She Was With Safaree,” one fan argues, while another adds, “Ever since nicki an safaree broke up her tracks been weak.”

While some fans argue that Safaree Samuels was partially responsible for Nicki Minaj’s success, Minaj previously lashed out at Safaree after he claimed to have written the majority of Minaj’s raps for her internationally successful The Pinkprint album, E! News reports.

“A b**** a** n***** can’t write my raps, you know why? You don’t have the heart, or the mind frame, or the mother******* intellect, b**** n*****,” Nicki Minaj told a crowd of fans during her tour for The Pinkprint just days after Safaree claimed to have ghostwritten for her album.

While Nicki Minaj and Safaree may not be on good terms following their abrupt split in 2014, Minaj previously spoke out against claims that suggest she is involved in or embarrassed by boyfriend Meek Mill’s internet feuds.

In their joint interview for GQ, Minaj neglected to weigh-in on Meek Mill and Drake’s ongoing diss battle by claiming, “That’s the thing people don’t understand. Meek is a grown a** man. I may not agree with everything he says.”

While Nicki Minaj and Meek Mill continue to spark engagement rumors as they near their one-year anniversary, it looks like Minaj’s fans are holding out hope that the couple will call it quits in the near future.
