Cristiano Ronaldo Transfer Rumors: Real Madrid Star ‘Thinking’ About MLS Move – Thiago Silva Insists He’ll Transfer To PSG
Rumors linking Cristiano Ronaldo with a transfer away from Real Madrid have been popping up intermittently over the last few seasons.
The Portuguese forward has been linked with a move back to Manchester United, as well as with transfers to Manchester City, Chelsea, and most recently, Paris Saint-Germain. And Thiago Silva, the club captain for PSG, has predicted that Ronaldo will one day move to the French capital.
Silva told RMC, via Bleacher Report, that he thinks that Ronaldo will one day join him and play with the Ligue 1 champions.
Silva originally explained, “I do not know [if Ronaldo will sign] but it’s fun playing with such major players. Ronaldo is the best player in the world. If the club wants him, of course the PSG squad would be happy.”
Speaking about Cristiano Ronaldo’s huge amount of talent, Thiago Silva continued, “He is a very good player, technically essential for all teams in the world and especially for PSG, who have a big dream to win the Champions League with great players.”After making this assertion though, Thiago Silva suddenly became more and more confident that Cristiano Ronaldo would eventually join him in Paris.
“I think Ronaldo will come,” Thiago Silva suddenly declared. “I do not know what happened with [PSG manager Laurent] Blanc after the game because he did not say but I hope [there were positive talks between the two].”
Thiago Silva also believes that Cristiano Ronaldo wouldn’t have a problem adjusting to playing in the French league too, even when it comes to talking to the media. Silva remarked, “He speaks French very well, perhaps better than me, and if it happens next year he will have no difficulty speaking with the media.”
But Cristiano Ronaldo has admitted that there is a chance that he might end up in a completely different league that isn’t quite as renowned as the French league. Speaking to FHM, the Real Madrid forward revealed that he is considering a move to the USA. Well, he wouldn’t rule it out.
“I’m definitely thinking about playing in the USA for a year,” Ronaldo declared. “I’ve always said living and playing there is a possibility.”
Ronaldo admitted, though, that he isn’t really sure where he is going to end up later in his career though, and he refused to rule out a move to any specific league. “I’m not shutting the door on any league or any place,” he declared.
This isn’t the first time that Cristiano Ronaldo has been linked with a move to the MLS. Back in March an article from Sports Illustrated, via MLS Soccer, insisted that Ronaldo would move to the MLS in 2018 once his current Real Madrid contract concluded.A source told the above site that Ronaldo “would likely arrive [in MLS] on a free transfer in 2018 once his current contract ends.” The report even revealed that Ronaldo had his eye on three possible locations for his potential move too, stating, “Ronaldo’s main interest lies in cities you’d probably expect: Miami, Los Angeles, and New York.”
This came just a couple of months after Jorge Mendes, Ronaldo’s agent, suggested that Ronaldo was interested in moving to the United States, stating, via the Telegraph, that the current Real Madrid forward would “perhaps he will go to the US. Only God knows what will happen.”
Back in 2012, during a pre-season tour of the United States, Ronaldo admitted that he hoped he would one day play in the United States Of America.
