Jessa Duggar And Ben Seewald Share First Baby Photos After Scary Home Birth Requires Ambulance [Video]

Jessa Duggar Seewald finally had her first baby, days after her due date — and has shared the first pictures of the newborn! The boy, whose name has yet to be revealed, weighed in at nine pounds and 11 ounces and measured 21 inches, reports TMZ.

Despite being rushed to the hospital after giving birth at home, Jessa, and husband Ben, have finally revealed their first baby photos. The sweet baby boy came just one day after Jessa turned 23-years-old, reports the Daily Mail, and the Seewald family shared photos of the happy family on their website.

A Facebook page devoted to the new TLC show, Jill & Jessa: Counting On shared a photo as well.

After a scary home birth, TMZ reports that Jessa was rushed to the hospital when mom, Michelle Duggar, called 911. Although the Duggar family has not given a reason for the ambulance ride, TMZ speculates it might have been due to the baby’s size.

According to the Daily Mail, Jessa was rushed to the hospital in Fayetteville, Arkansas, because of complications with the home delivery. The child, apparently healthy, stayed behind with the Duggar and Seewald families.

As with prior Duggar family home births, no doctor was present.

According to husband and new father, Ben, who released a statement to the media, both Jessa and the boy are doing well, writing that “[o]ur sweet baby boy was born last night…[h]e’s precious.” Ben also let everyone know that “and both he and Jessa are doing great.”

Until she delivered, Jessa had kept the gender of her first child a secret.

The Daily Mail reports that one of the photos shared on the Seewald blog shows Ben and members of the Duggar clan holding the baby boy, but Jessa is not present.

The home where Jessa gave birth is a two-bedroom, one bath house owned by parents Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, and is the same home where child molester Josh Duggar lived with his wife Anna.

According to the Daily Mail, Anna Duggar gave birth to her son, Michael, while seated on a toilet in the same home. In that birth, a doula assisted.

Sister and Jill & Jessa: Counting On co-star, Jessa Duggar, had also planned for a home birth, but was required to give birth in a hospital.

The news that Jessa finally gave birth, after being a week overdue, was shared first on social media by Ben’s sister, Jessica, who shared an Instagram snap of a Post-it that read, “I’m an auntie,” the Daily Mail reports. She coyly revealed the gender of the infant by writing the happy message in blue.

According to the Daily Mail, Derick Dillard, brother-in-law to Jessa, also posted a photo and a caption congratulating Jessa and Ben. He also wrote that he hopes Jessa and Ben “raise this little guy in the love and admonition of our Lord.”

The home birth of the newest Duggar will be shared on the new TLC show Jill & Jessa: Counting On, which airs this December.

Jill & Jessa: Counting Onfollows the lives of the sisters as they navigate adulthood and the changes that come with it,” according to TLC, and replaces the popular 19 Kids And Counting which followed the lives of the ever-growing conservative Duggar family.

The show 19 Kids And Counting, which made Jessa and the rest of the Duggar family famous, was abruptly cancelled after reports surfaced that Jessa and Jill’s brother, Josh Duggar, molested several underage girls while he himself was teen. Two of his victims included Jessa and Jill.

The Duggar family has also been embroiled in the Ashley Madison scandal after it was revealed that Josh had two separate accounts. He later confessed to cheating on his wife, Anna.

Congrats to new parents Jessa Duggar and Ben Seewald on their new baby!
