Shelfani? Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani ‘Really Happy Together’
Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani are officially dating, Fox News reported Thursday.
The coupling of “Shelfani” was announced by a rep for Gwen Stefani on Wednesday.
“Gwen and Blake are longtime friends who have very recently started dating,” the representative said prior to the County Music Association awards ceremony.
People also suggested that the relationship between Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani may have been behind a tweet by the “Lonely Tonight” singer after the CMA Awards show. In it, Blake Shelton said he had “many great things” happening in his life, which may have referred to his relationship with Gwen Stefani.
Awesome night tonight. So many great things happening in my life. Congrats to @ChrisStapleton!!!! Long time coming brother…

In the article, an unnamed source suggested Shelfani was a relationship between two people who understand where the other one is coming from.
“They’ve been supporting each other through a difficult time and they’re really happy together,” the source said.

The Shelfani rumors began when the two Voice judges announced divorces from their famous spouses only a few weeks apart. Blake Shelton announced his divorce from wife Miranda Lambert in July, while Gwen Stefani and former husband Gavin Rossdale confirmed their split in August.
Blake Shelton and his former wife have no children after their four-year marriage. Gwen Stefani, however, has three children with Rossdale, and the two are seeking joint custody of their children following 13 years of marriage.
Even with his behind-the-scenes knowledge about Shelfani, The Voice host Carson Daly was loyal to his famous host judges, keeping their secret until Shelton and Stefani decided to tell the world, Us Magazine reported. Saying he wasn’t shocked to hear the news that Stefani and Shelton were dating, Daly chided his male counterpart Thursday morning.
“I didn’t think Blake could get a girl as hot as Gwen, to be honest,” Daly joked on the Today show. “He’s a goofy cowboy. She’s the queen of cool. But God bless them, they are two of the nicest people in the business. We are thrilled they are finding each other.”

Stefani will not be returning The Voice for Season 10, which is set to air in 2016. The singer will be replaced by Christina Aguilera for the next season, the show posted on their Instagram account.
The timing of the Shelfani announcement was a curious one. Blake Shelton was in Nashville attending the CMA awards, as was ex-wife Miranda Lambert. The leak came from the Gwen Stefani camp, according to several sources.
Shelfani — which sounds better than Gwake — flew into Nashville on the same flight Tuesday, People reported. At the time, a source close to Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani would not confirm their intimate relationship.
“Blake and Gwen are going through similar situations. They have spent time together and have drawn support from each other. They are flirty.”
Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood know how to tell a few jokes at the expense of fellow country music singer Blake Shelton. At the CMA awards on Wednesday, their opening monologue threw some innuendos out about Shelton and his fidelity during his marriage, People reported.

Most famous couples have a moniker — such as Shelfani — that is a mashup of the duo’s names. Brangelina (Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie), Bennifer (Jennifer Lopez & Ben Affleck), and Zanessa (Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens) are just a few of the famous couple nicknames that have stuck, giving fans hope that Shelfani could be the next household name.
