Bethenny Frankel Leaving ‘Real Housewives Of New York’ For ‘Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills’?

Bethenny Frankel is officially leaving the Big Apple and making her way to the glitz and glamour of Beverly Hills. Although she isn’t leaving The Real Housewives of New York City for good, Frankel will be appearing in a handful of episodes in Season 6 of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

In an interview with E! News, Frankel revealed that her friendship with Kyle Richards was one reason why she was included in the upcoming season of the reality show.

“I’ve known Kyle for years. I used to work for Kathy Hilton and take Paris and Nicky to school and so I knew them through Kyle who’s a friend of mine and she was coming into town so I got together with her in the Hamptons,” Frankel shared. “All very natural, but you know she happens to be on the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and I got to meet all her friends.”

Apparently, being in a new town didn’t stop Frankel from being her herself. In fact, Frankel held a dinner party for the cast members of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, and she didn’t hold anything back.

“She was very direct with everyone. She wasn’t afraid to speak her mind,” an inside source revealed to the outlet.

At the same time, Frankel went on to discuss her short time on the show and stated that she had a really good time being a part of the new season. Of course, in typical Frankel fashion, her appearance also came with a little drama.

“I really enjoyed shooting with the Beverly Hills cast. I feel like I was really part of their cast for a small minute. I had some preconceived notions and I really liked talking to them and I thought it was amusing. I met someone new that I hadn’t met before and I had a great time,” she stated. “I really did, and I thought it was funny and I think there was a little drama and of course I was right in the middle of it, but I’m never afraid to say what I think about something. I might have put my foot in my mouth but you know it was funny, it was good.”

Although Bethenny Frankel has certainly been at the forefront of drama on RHONY, her appearance in Beverly Hills was partly motivated by her need to help Richards through her own family issues. During the past season of RHOBH, Richards’ sister, Kim, really struggled with her substance abuse problems. Things eventually reached a point where Kim was forced to leave the show and enter rehab.

With that in mind, Frankel recently admitted that a lot her friend’s problems are due to being a part of the reality world and the fame that comes along with it. According to the New York Daily News, Frankel stated that this spotlight is exaggerated by Beverly Hills being so entertainment heavy.

“They’re in a town where money and attention and fame are really prevalent, and I think it’s like an alternative universe,” Frankel explained in an interview. “They’re living this, but then they’re also living it in the press, on Instagram, on Twitter. It’s a really really murky, and I don’t know how they’re going to get out of it. Being on television together… it doesn’t seem like it’s going in a good direction.”

Meanwhile, along with her involvement with RHOBH, Frankel is also currently filming for Season 8 of RHONY. Apart from the departure of Heather Thomson and Kristen Taekman, little is known about the upcoming season.

Fans can watch Frankel make her debut on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills when it premieres on Bravo.
