Kate Middleton Plays ‘Welly Wanging’ At ‘Shaun Of The Sheep’ Film Premiere, But Is Utterly Awful — Prince William Heckles Duchess During Performance

We finally know the one thing that Kate Middleton isn’t good at. She might be effortlessly beautiful, relentlessly stylish, and always amicable, but it turns out that Kate Middleton is woeful at throwing a wellington boot.

Kate Middleton, 33, proved that during her visit to BAFTA at London’s Piccadilly, where she was joined by Prince William and Prince Harry as well as a hoard of children. All of which enjoyed the premiere of Shaun the Sheep: The Farmer’s Llamas, which was screened by British animation company Aardman.

Middleton, who wore a $600 dress by Meg Space, which had been designed by her close friend, Tabitha Webb, took part in a “welly wanging” competition alongside Prince William and Prince Harry while at Aardman. Unfortunately for the Duchess, her performance was distinctly sub-par.

Meanwhile, Prince William will be able to taunt his wife over the next few days, as he was the one who finished victorious in the competition, which, for those of you that don’t know, simply sees each contestant try and throw a wellington boot as far as possible.

According to the Daily Mail, Prince Harry was the first of the royal trio to be asked to take part in the game. Harry was challenged to try and knock the head off a model of a farmer with the welly.

Clearly, Prince Harry took it rather seriously too, because when he failed, he immediately walked away groaning and moaning at his miss.

His sorrow at missing the farmer was compounded even further when his older brother, Prince William, sauntered forward and then immediately knocked the farmer’s head off.

Gareth Howells, who works at Aardman animation, wasn’t overly impressed with Prince William’s effort, though, as he teased, “I think it was just a fluke.” Howells added that there was “a bit of a knack to it.”

Despite the fact that Kate Middleton and Prince Harry had to watch as Prince William came out on top in the challenge, they each appeared to have a splendid time at the event. Photos of the trio saw them laughing and wailing with joy during their time with Aardman.

Kate Middleton even found herself assisting a group of schoolchildren as they made their own clip with Aardman.

Alongside a young schoolgirl, Kate Middleton was encouraged to do a comedic slow walk by her husband, and then the duo were asked to try and shut a suitcase that several other children had pretended to squeeze inside of earlier in the day.

Kate Middleton, Prince William, and Prince Harry were joined for the day’s activities and games by a variety of children from the numerous charities that the royal trio support. As well as partaking in a quick game of “welly wanging,” they also took part in a Shaun the Sheep-themed model making workshop and craft activities session, which saw the trio create their very own models of Shaun the Sheep.

Over the course of the day, Prince William, Prince Harry, and Kate Middleton each talked to members of the 30-plus charities that they are either patrons of or work closely with. They had all come together to be a part of this creative industries-themed event that was designed to see if these individual charities could assist each other in their efforts.

Kate Middleton, Prince Harry, and Prince William’s jam-packed day continues later this evening as the trio are going to attend the world premiere of Spectre, the latest James Bond film, which once again stars Daniel Craig as the titular spy and has been directed by the Oscar-winning Sam Mendes.
