Kelly Rohrbach: Leonardo DiCaprio’s New Fiancée Is Not The Average ‘Sports Illustrated’ Model

Kelly Rohrbach has finally gotten Leonardo DiCaprio to settle down, with reports that the Sports Illustrated swimsuit model is engaged to the actor.

Although she is known for her looks, it was reportedly her sharp intellect and stance on social issues that won Leo over. Multiple outlets have reported that the two are planning to get married, and it was a deep intellectual connection that caused the relationship to progress so quickly.

The 25-year-old Rohrbach reportedly got engaged to Leo last month during a romantic dinner at an Italian restaurant in New York City, with word of their marriage plans just leaking out this week. The reports come as a bit of a surprise as the two have only been dating since July.

“It wasn’t planned,” an insider told OK! magazine about the proposal. “It just happened. They were enjoying a bottle of red wine and engrossed in conversation as usual — it’s pretty obvious that they’re in love from the way they’re always touching each other and smiling. And then Leo paused and looked at her, and said he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her. Kelly was shocked, but Leo convinced her that he meant it, and she agreed, with a big kiss.”

Though Kelly Rohrbach has made a living from her good looks, it was reportedly her mind that helped seal the deal for Leonardo DiCaprio — at least, that was part of it.

“Kelly is incredibly smart and she really understands Leo,” OK!‘s source explained. “She shares his passion for tackling social issues like global warming and world poverty. They connect on an intellectual level, which is new for him. She’s much more than a pretty face.

Kelly Rohrbach may not have the typical pedigree of a Sports Illustrated model. Though the 25-year-old has appeared in holiday campaigns for Gap and on the cover of magazines, she is also a graduate of Georgetown University with a degree in theater. She later crossed the pond to the United Kingdom, where she studied at the renowned London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art.

Rohrbach is well rounded in her interests, as well. She was first recruited to Georgetown University on a golf scholarship and was a Division I athlete.

Aside from her modeling work, Rohrbach has taken on a number of acting projects including appearances in Two and a Half Men, The New Normal, Rizzoli and Isles, and Rush. She also played a lead role in The P.E.T. Squad Files.

If the reports are true, then Kelly Rohrbach may have gotten Leonardo DiCaprio to commit in a way that he never has before. A notorious Hollywood playboy, Leonardo has dated a number of other models but mostly just for a short time, and none of the relationships very serious.

But with fellow playboy George Clooney settling down last year and marrying Amal Alamuddin, Leo could be following suit. And DiCaprio may have hinted that he was ready for marriage, telling Glamour magazine last year that he wanted marriage to come naturally.

“The truth is, it’s gonna happen when it’s gonna happen. I’m just gonna let it happen naturally. I really am. That’s the only way to do it, I feel. And when it’s right, it’s gonna be right.”

But there are conflicting reports on whether Leonardo DiCaprio and Kelly Rohrbach are really engaged. Gossip Cop, which often takes on stories from OK! magazine and other celebrity outlets, claim that a source close to Leo called the story “garbage.”

Leonardo DiCaprio may also be taking on the engagement rumors, with a rep reportedly telling Hollywood Life that word of his engagement to Kelly Rohrbach is “total bull****.”
