Memories Pizza is one of the many companies that has made it clear that they will not contribute to any type of celebration when it comes to same-sex marriage. By now, everyone is aware that the state of Indiana has gained quite a reputation for anti-gay activism. Since many Indiana businesses, organizations, and government agencies argue supporting same-sex unions violates their Christian beliefs, citizens have come together in support of those beliefs.

In fact, Christian citizens have reportedly raised more than $850,000 to defend their religious beliefs. However, they aren’t the only ones fighting back. Members of the LGBT community are also standing their ground in defense of their lifestyles. Anti-gay businesses like Memories Pizza have even been sued by couples they refuse to serve. Now, an LGBT activist has come up with a clever comeback for the restaurant that adamantly refuses to cater gay weddings by making them do so, and the story behind the successful execution of their plan has gone viral.

According to The Blaze , Memories Pizza has made it clear that they do not support gay marriage. So, of course, catering a gay wedding would be out of the question. But how did the anti-gay Indiana restaurant end up catering the wedding? Well, it all started with Robin Trevino, who is a member of GayCo Productions, a comedic group based out of Illinois. It has been reported that Trevino filmed a short video, documenting his drive to the restaurant from Illinois, explaining how he pulled it all off. Apparently, he’d ordered two large pizzas from Memories Pizza for a reception.

“Memories Pizza will be catering our gay wedding,” he said in the clip. “They have no idea that this is going to happen, but it’s happening.”

However, he didn’t exactly reveal any specific details about the reception – or the fact that the pizzas were for a gay wedding reception. During the call he made to place the order, he purposely declined to disclose the occasion.

“Can I order two large pizzas for carry-out?” Trevino asked.

When he took the Memories Pizza order back home, he and his husband served them to their guests for their wedding reception. “Okay, Memories, thanks for catering my gay wedding,” he proclaimed. According to Patheos , the wedding reception that took place on September 26 was a celebration for their legalized marriage. However, the two actually had their first wedding ceremony back in 2008.

The latest Memories Pizza debacle comes just months after the legalization of same-sex marriage. While the disapproval of homosexuality may not be anything new for most business owners, it’s probably safe to say the opposition soared to an all-time high when the government ruled to legalize same-sex marriage on June 26, 2015.

The 5-4 decision regarding the fundamental right to guarantee marriage for same-sex couples came as quite a shock to many Americans who initially thought there was no way for the government to approve it. But to the shock and dismay of many Americans, Congress approved. Almost immediately after the announcement, numerous reports began circulating about businesses and several counties refusing to service gay couples or offer marriage licenses.

Of course, news outlets have made several attempts to contact Memories Pizza, but initially received no response. When Crystal O’Connor, one of the restaurant owners, finally responded, she made it clear that the couple would not have been served if they’d known they were gay. “If a gay couple came in and wanted us to provide pizzas for their wedding, we would have to say no.” But, never the less, what’s done is done!
