Amy Schumer may have had the night of her life when she took home the Emmy for Best Variety Series. But for Ryan Seacrest, it was a moment he might like to forget.
As reported by the New York Daily News, Schumer made E! red carpet show host Ryan Seacrest turn red himself when she cracked an orgasm joke during the pre-show telecast. Seacrest was asking her about the comedienne’s four nominations going into the ceremony when she took it to a far different place.
“The best thing about being a woman is multiple…” she first blurted out.
Amy then quickly covered her tracks, changing her tone instantly.
“That’s a myth. I’ve never experienced that,” she remarked.
For Schumer, jokes like that are how she’s turned 2015 into her breakout year. Her movie Trainwreck, about a promiscuous working woman who eventually finds true love, was a surprise hit at the box office this summer, grossing over $100 million dollars, according to Box Office Mojo. Last night, she captured the Emmy for Best Variety Series and thanked everyone — including her makeup girl!
“Thanks, everybody who helped me,” she said, “The girl who gave me this smoky eye [makeup].”
So with all this success, Amy is riding high. But is last night’s win at the 2015 Emmy Awards Schumer’s favorite moment in her life? Maybe not.
Earlier in the night, she told Extra’s Mario Lopez about a thrilling moment that occurred at the Madonna concert in NYC, when she was brought on stage and spanked as part of the Rebel Hearts show at Madison Square Garden.
“Well, first of all, I had no idea I was going back on stage and I’m, like, drinking and sweating and her show’s amazing and they’re like, ‘Go dance with her.’ Then, all of a sudden, there I’m bent over — and if I had a nickel for every time that’s happened — but it was the best night of my life, getting to dance on stage with Madonna!”
So what’s next for Amy Schumer? From the sound of it, she’s already at work on a follow-up to Trainwreck with new best bud Jennifer Lawrence.
“We met this summer and just, like, really hit it off, and we started writing a script together and it was going well so we wrote a movie,” Schumer told Lopez. “It’s really good… We’re hoping to shoot a year from February.”
And if it’s any bit as successful as Trainwreck, the Amy Schumer engine shows no sign of derailment anytime soon.
