Josh Duggar In Rehab For Ashley Madison & Sex Addiction: How ’19 Kids’ Clan Rules Impact Anna Duggar [Video]

Josh Duggar, his parents, and the Duggar family no longer star on 19 Kids and Counting. But the family continues to receive attention as Josh remains in what is described as a Bible-based rehab center to be treated for issues that reportedly include sex addiction, reported Entertainment Tonight.

Duggar entered the rehab facility after several scandals rocked the 19 Kids family. The public vision of Duggarville first changed in May 2015 after the news emerged that Josh had molested five underage girls, several of whom were his sisters. But then came the confessions that Duggar had cheated on his wife Anna by paying for two accounts on the infidelity site Ashley Madison.

The facility where Josh reportedly is staying is called Reformers Unanimous and is located in Illinois. The Duggars previously had praised the treatment that is based on religious faith.

“We love the Duggar family,” said Tony Richardson, Director of Development at Reformers Unanimous. “Our hearts and prayers are with them.”

He cited an 80 percent success rate for his patients, which he defines in several ways.

“They no longer fall prey to [destructive habits]. Second definition is that they are employed. Third is getting involved, and attending a local church. Local church is God’s support group and that is important to recovery.”

The facility takes the men to Sunday church services. Josh will live in a barrack styled after the military and devote 40 hours each week to community service, according to an insider.

As the Inquisitr reported, after the news broke that Josh had accounts on Ashley Madison, the 27-year-old joined his parents, Jim Bob and Michelle, in posting statements on the family’s website.

However, the 27-year-old’s remarks later were edited to remove part of the confession.

In his original confession, however, Josh revealed his pornography addiction as well as his infidelity.

“I have been the biggest hypocrite ever. While espousing faith and family values, I have secretly over the last several years been viewing pornography on the internet and this became a secret addiction and I became unfaithful to my wife,” stated Duggar.

He described himself as living a double life, and Josh said he was grieving for the disgrace and pain that he was aware he had inflicted both on Anna and his family.

But some have asked if the Duggar family’s strict rules about dating and marriage contributed to Josh’s problems, reported People.

While Josh’s parents are described as stunned by their son’s confession that he cheated on his wife and was addicted to porn, they raised him so that his courting of Anna was limited to side hugs, with a family member chaperoning so that the man and woman are never alone.

After they are engaged, they can hold hands, but more is typically reserved for after marriage.

As for divorce if something goes wrong, as it has for Anna and Josh? It’s not open for discussion, according to an insider.

“She is fully and permanently committed to her marriage and her children. And she’ll have the support of Jim Bob and Michelle and everyone else in their circle in terms of staying with him and making this work.”
