WWE News: Update On The Dudley Boyz Returning On ‘WWE RAW,’ Back For One Final WWE Run?

We were assured before WWE RAW aired on Monday night that we were in for a number of surprises. Some we kind of expected, such as the return of pro-wrestling icon Sting. What we did not expect was the return of former multi-time WWE Tag Team Champions The Dudley Boyz. The Dudleys have held tag team gold in every company they have worked for. They have held WWE, WCW, ECW, TNA, and even IWGP Tag Team Titles just to name a few.

They have 25 tag team titles together from major promotions, the most of any tag team in history. The duo will most likely go down as the greatest tag team in pro-wrestling history. It is an arguable notion, but one that most have come to the conclusion of now. Fans had hoped that WWE would manage to bring them back to potentially have one last run with WWE before they retired.

Bubba Ray Dudley appeared earlier this year at the Royal Rumble, during the Rumble match. Fans wanted to see D-Von, but the half brother of Bubba was not present. It was fun to see both men back in the WWE finally after a decade of time away. Both are still in amazing shape and able to perform well. D-Von was pretty much retired while Bubba is still an active performer and potentially in the best shape of his life.

There was a rumor months back that stated the Dudleys would be back to face off with The Wyatt Family’s Luke Harper and Erick Rowan. Rowan is still out with an injury, but is expected back soon. Now that The Wyatts have introduced a new member, it is unknown if Rowan will be back for the Wyatt Family or on his own. However, he and Harper were tagging together before Rowan’s injury.

It appears that WWE has decided to allow The Dudley Boyz to come back full time. They will appear on WWE SmackDown this Thursday and claimed they were back on WWE RAW and via Twitter.

The duo has said in the past that they would love a final run with WWE to end their careers on. It appears as if WWE is going to give them a run similar to what they did with The New Age Outlaws in 2013-2014. The plan is for the two of them to help the tag division and put over younger talent while at the same time working their last run with the WWE.

On top of this, there is some speculation that since The Dudley Boyz interrupted The New Day, they may be the people to take the WWE Tag Team Titles off of them for a bit. It would pretty much be the exact New Age Outlaw formula, but fans would actually want to see this one.
