George Miller To Direct ‘Man Of Steel 2’? Fans React To Rumor

Multiple reports claim that director George Miller might direct the highly anticipated Man of Steel sequel.

According to ComicBook.com, the source of the rumor is Jon Schnepp, director of the documentary The Death of Superman Lives: What Happened?

The claim was made by Schnepp during a recent episode of PopCorn Talk.

George Miller has created an impressive resume of box-office hits and memorable classics over the years. The 70-year-old director has directed such films as Twilight Zone: The Movie(1983) and Lorenzo’s Oil(1992).

Miller has even made a few family movies that became hits as well, including Babe: Pig in the City(1998) as well as the Happy Feet franchise.

However, perhaps the most memorable highlight from Miller’s filmography is Mad Max.

His first film was the 1979 dystopian action movie Mad Max starring Mel Gibson. Miller and Gibson paired up again for two follow-up sequels — Mad Max 2(1981) and Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome(1985).

Nearly 30 years after the third film, George Miller was able to share Mad Max with a brand new generation — rebooting the franchise with Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron in Mad Max: Fury Road.

With an estimated budget of $150 million, Miller’s reboot generated over $373.2 million at the box office worldwide, according to Box Office Mojo.

Quite a few people shared their honest reactions and responses to the rumors about George Miller directing the Man of Steel sequel on Twitter.

Whether or not George Miller will actually direct Man of Steel is still up in the air. For now, it is just an unconfirmed rumor.

What is confirmed, though, is that Zack Snyder will have his hands full with Justice League. Another point is that George Miller made Warner Bros. a lot of money with Mad Max: Fury Road.

Therefore, it would not be surprising at all if George Miller is officially named the director of Man of Steel 2. Only time will tell.
