Austin Mahone has managed to lay low after both of his high-profiled relationships. The “Dirty Work” singer is trying to his best to avoid both Becky G and Camila Cabello.
Just like Justin Bieber, Austin Mahone was discovered on YouTube. Like his contemporaries, Mahone has shot to heartthrob status thanks to his hit songs like “Mmm Yeah.” Mahone spoke exclusively to FOX 411 at the Teen Choice Awards, where he opened up about his split with Becky G .
Austin says that he’s doing well despite their shocking split. He appeared to be all smiles at the award show.
When asked about the split, Austin responded, “I mean I’m chilling. Just taking a break, hanging out – it’s all good.”
Meanwhile, Mahone worked hard to avoid his other ex-girlfriend, Camila Cabello , at the award show, which took place on Sunday night. The two were seen on the red carpet at the 2015 Teen Choice Awards. The famous exes reportedly tried to avoid each other for most of the night. According to an inside source, Mahone did “everything in his power” to avoid the Fifth Harmony singer.
The alleged snitch added, “He dipped his head and avoided all potential eye contact.”
Austin dated Camila prior to dating Becky G. The couple only dated for a few months in 2014 but split a month after going public with their romance. While Camila revealed to Seventeen magazine that Austin was her first love, the crooner later revealed that Becky G was his first real love. Ouch!
During his interview with MTV News , Mahone slammed his previous relationship with Cabello and her burgeoning music career.
“It’s crazy, I never had, like, a real relationship before, so it’s pretty crazy. It’s great being in a relationship with someone who does the same thing you do. We understand each other, we understand what we do.”
Mahone then began dating Becky G in 2015. The couple appeared to be serious until the two singers split recently. Both Becky G and Mahone claimed that the distance and their hectic work schedules were the reason for their sudden breakup. He revealed to Entertainment Tonight last week that their breakup was in fact mutual — even if he’s avoiding her lately.
“We actually kinda broke up a few days ago, just ’cause we’re so busy traveling and all that. We thought it was just kinda best if we just chill for a second, but we’re still super close.”
Both Austin and Becky G admitted that they are planning to collaborate in the recording studio sometime in the near future. In the meantime, fans are holding out hope that they will also rekindle their romance.
Austin Mahone has been making headlines for what he said about Kylie Jenner. During his recent interviews with Entertainment Tonight and Watch What Happens Live , the pop tart claimed that Kylie crashed her new white Ferrari.
As previously reported via the Inquisitr , Mahone has since apologized for reigniting the rumor, which quickly spread on Twitter.
