Watch Bayern Munich Vs. Hamburg SV Live Online Free Right Here: German Bundesliga Opener, Streaming
United States fans of the German Bundesliga, for the first time, can watch the season opener live online free and legally Friday, as defending champion Bayern Munich open their quest for a record fourth straight championship, facing Hamburg SV at Allianz Arena in Munich.
The 2015-2106 German Bundesliga season will make history in a couple of ways. Not only does Bayern Munich have a chance to stretch its unprecedented title streak, but every league match will be carried live in the United States by Fox Sports, making German top flight football more widely accessible in the U.S.A. than ever before.
The Bayern Munich vs. Hamburg SV German Bundesliga season opening match can be viewed live online right here on this Inquisitr page, above. For other alternatives, see the streaming links in the final paragraph of this article. Kickoff time on Friday, August 14, is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. Central European Summer Time in Munich — that’s 2:30 p.m. United States Eastern Daylight Time, 11:30 a.m. Pacific.
In 2013, 21st Century Fox — the parent company of Fox TV and Fox Sports — signed what the trade publication Variety called a “mammoth pact” with Deutsche Fussball Liga, the organization that operates the Bundesliga, to carry all of the league’s top flight matches in North and South America, as well as numerous other countries in Europe and Asia.
The first broadcast in that deal will be the Bayern Munich vs. Hamburg match on Friday, and as a way to promote the German league to fans who may not be familiar with the German brand of football — as well as those who are already devoted Bundesliga fans — Fox is offering the game free for anyone to watch live online.
The remaining 306 matches, shown on the Fox Sports 1, Fox Sports 2, and Fox Soccer Plus networks, will be available through the Fox Sports Go online service, which requires login credentials from cable or satellite subscribers who receive the channels as part of their TV packages.
Bayern Munich Manager Pep Guardiola set his team’s goals in a press conference this week, in which he said that, even though he has not yet won a UEFA Champions League trophy with Bayern, the team’s priority is to win its record-setting fourth-straight league title.
“There are great clubs in the Bundesliga but no team has managed to win the league title four times in a row. This is something we want to do,” he said on Thursday. “It would be a big step for us. But with all the players healthy we also want to reach the Champions League semifinals. After that we can see.”
