‘Mortal Kombat X’ On Xbox, PS, and PC Characters Unmasked: Sub-Zero, Jason Voorhees, Torr

Sub-Zero is only one of the many Mortal Kombat X characters that has become really close to a lot of Mortal Kombat fans’ hearts — but what if you saw what was behind his mask?

Mortal Kombat X, when it was released for Xbox, PlayStation, and PC, was received really well by gamers the world over. The Mortal Kombat franchise has been one of the most popular game franchises for consoles since the first Mortal Kombat was released, and its popularity went out of control when Mortal Kombat X released on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC this year.

Now, at the height of game modification, Mortal Kombat X gamers are starting to highlight mods for the game by unmasking Sub-Zero, Erron Black, and Jason Voorhees, Torr, and even still unplayable Mortal Kombat X characters Rain and Smoke. See the real faces of these well-loved Mortal Kombat characters from Dynasty’s YouTube video below.

The unmasking mod for Mortal Kombat X enables the player to remove Torr’s usual mask and bag, and Sub-Zero is finally seen without his Revenant mask. Even new Mortal Kombat X DLC character Jason Voorhees is uncovered, with his hockey gear removed, and Erron Black is seen without a bandana. While Jason looks way scarier in the movies, that face behind the hockey mask is still pretty nasty.

In May, Mortal Kombat X co-creator Ed Boon hinted that Rain and Smoke from previous Mortal Kombat titles may be coming to the newest title on Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PC. This new unmasking mod for Mortal Kombat X even sees these two characters, while still unconfirmed for release in the game, unmasked.

As of writing, this mod for Mortal Kombat X could be downloaded for the PC version, and it is not (yet, hopefully) available for Xbox and PlayStation consoles.

The unmasking mod is a fan-made mod, but with the intricacy in detail and with its gaining popularity, it is not quite far-fetched, as Game Rant sees it, for Mortal Kombat devs to pick up on the idea and sell it as a costume—of course, for a price.

NetherRealm’s Mortal Kombat X has just recently been recently announced as the best-selling game of 2015, despite the tide of mainstream titles coming out to Xbox and PlayStation consoles. This could only mean that continued support for Mortal Kombat X can probably translate to more paid and free DLCs. Will the unmasked Sub-Zero, Jason Voorhees, and Torr be the next best-selling DLCs that Mortal Kombat X devs should start working on? Or are Rain and Smoke not letting them cut in line?
