Joe Bailey And Ashley Iaconetti Defend Themselves, Clare Crawley And Juelia Kinney Remain Upbeat

Joe Bailey and Ashley Iaconetti want people to believe that they aren’t as bad in real life as they are currently being portrayed on Season 2 of Bachelor in Paradise. As the latest episode aired on Sunday night, both Joe and Ashley defended themselves on Twitter. Meanwhile, the targets of their mean words, Clare Crawley and Juelia Kinney, are taking the high road.

Sunday night’s episode had a bit of drama, thanks to a love triangle involving Clare, Ashley, and Jared Haibon. Ashley and Jared previously enjoyed a date. However, after the arrival of Clare, Jared, with a date card in hand, chose to ask Clare out instead of going out with Ashley again. Clare, who previously went on a date with Mikey Tenerelli, quickly accepted his invite.

Some of the other contestants predicted that Jared and Clare’s decision to go on a date together was going to cause major drama. “Literally, you could hear two people just heartbroken over a decision that just happened,” Dan Cox said. “Jared is like the nicest guy in the house but he just blew everything up,” Tanner Tolbert added.

Ashley Iaconetti reacted to Jared Haibon and Clare Crawley’s possible coupling up by making a snide remark regarding her age. Ashley said that 34-year-old Clare’s “eggs are nearly dead” and that she’s much too old for the 26-year-old Jared.

Prior to the airing of the episode, Ashley warned viewers that they’ll see a love triangle. She even gave her and Jared, and Clare and Jared, couple names.

“Team Jashley or Team Clared? Expect to see more of this love triangle tonight & tomorrow on #BachelorInParadise!!”

As the episode aired, Ashley posted a tweet that suggested that she didn’t mean what she said.

Ashley also attempted to explain why she’s seen crying so much.

“Raise your hand if you’ve cried over a guy. Now imagine experiencing that pain with a camera in your face. Stop tear shamming me!”

Despite Ashley’s defenses, she received a lot of critical comments from viewers. In reaction to someone who tweeted that Ashley’s eggs should be poisoned, Ashley joked that she better freeze them now.

Ashley also seemed to blame editing for how bad she came off in the latest episode.

Joe Bailey also tweeted that viewers shouldn’t believe everything they see and hear on TV.

Joe has received a lot flak from viewers for how he treated Clare and Juelia Kinney. When Clare commented that Joe’s introduction to the group was awkward, he lashed back at her by making fun of her repeat appearance. “This isn’t your first rodeo, is it, Claire? This is like what, your second Paradise? It’s terrible,” he said. This prompted Clare to cry and rant, seemingly to a raccoon who was trying to open a bottle of wine. “This is my f***ing third time here and once again there’s f***ing nobody. What the f**k am I doing?” she asked.

Clare reacted to the scene by comparing Joe to the raccoon.

She also retweeted a viewer’s tweet that pointed out that Clare at least got free vacations.

In regards to Juelia, Joe, after acting as if he was really into her during their date, said that his date “wasn’t with the right person” and that Juelia wasn’t “very smart.” He then admitted that all he wanted from Juelia, who fell for his act, was a rose so that he could stay on the show.

The morning after the episode aired, Juelia tweeted about karma.

While it’s not clear so far whether Joe Bailey really went on Bachelor in Paradise to find love or simply to have fun, others have admitted that they went to Mexico just to have a good time. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, JJ Lane, who competed with Joe for Kaitlyn Bristowe on The Bachelorette, recently said on a radio show that he joined the spin-off for the free booze, sun, and sand.
