Inside Jennifer Aniston & Justin Theroux Surprise Wedding: Maid Of Honor, Best Man, Cake Details, Rings, Brad Pitt, And More!
After a three-year engagement, Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux are now married! The couple went for a surprise wedding, inviting just 75 of their closest friends and family members to what was said to be a birthday party for Theroux at their Bel Air mansion.
As the Inquisitr previously reported, Jennifer and Justin’s mansion was set up with tents to maintain their privacy during the surprise wedding ceremony. In addition, Jennifer’s beloved dogs were part of the ceremony.
What other details from the surprise wedding do we know? Longtime friend and Friends co-star Courteney Cox served as the Maid of Honor, while Justin Campbell, who is the tattoo artist and good friend of the groom, served as the Best Man, according to a People report.
Other personalities who were lucky enough to witness the surprise wedding include Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi, Lisa Kudrow, Jason Bateman, Chelsea Handler, Will Arnett, Tobey Maguire and Jennifer Meyer, Emily Blunt and John Krasinski, and Jimmy Kimmel. The couple’s cake for the surprise wedding is perfect for Jennifer. Another report from People showed pictures of the wedding cake, made of strawberry and vanilla, which had toppers representing Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux — only in Muppet form. The unique cake was made by Charm City Cakes’ Duff Goldman, although reports say that they had no idea they were making a wedding cake for the surprise wedding.
The choice for the cake for the surprise wedding is a good move, as Jennifer has a deep adoration for Muppets. In an interview with People four years ago, Jennifer spoke about Muppets while answering adoption rumors.
“Not adopting. There’s no nursery. Those are the two smallest things that exist [she points to two Muppets on a chair in her living room] my Muppets. Those are my Muppets.”
Jennifer went on to say that the two Muppets were of him and Will Speck, The Switch‘s director.
“They are the most fun, they’ve come with me on vacations. My girlfriends, we do photo shoots with them, it’s very silly. They’ve been to Cabo so far.”
As E Online reports, Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux’s wedding rings were made by none other than Jennifer Meyer, a jewelry designer and Tobey Maguire’s wife. Meyer has also designed jewelry for Blake Lively, Beyonce, Jessica Biel, and also made Courtney Cox’s engagement ring.
And true to the Friends theme song, Courteney Cox was indeed there for Jennifer Aniston during this happy time in her life. Reports say that Cox was the last one to leave the surprise wedding at 3 a.m.
Courteney and Jennifer have been close friends since the start of Friends in 1994. Now, Aniston is the godmother of Coco, Courteney’s 11-year-old daughter with David Arquette. They’re so close, in fact, that they still have sleepovers.
“I’ve slept in her guest bedroom a lot. Without giving away too much of my private stuff, all I can say is she’s been there for me through thick and thin.”
Meanwhile, the news of Jennifer and Justin’s surprise wedding has reached Brad Pitt, Jennifer’s ex-husband. There’s no bitterness here, according to Hollywood Life, as an insider said that all Brad has to say were well wishes for Jennifer and Justin.
“Brad is really happy for Jen. He still loves her and cares for her and always hoped she would find love again. He knows Justin too and thinks he’s a great dude. When he fell in love with Angie he felt bad for Jen but he had to follow his heart.”
After the fabulous surprise wedding, Jennifer and Justin are now spending their honeymoon in Bora Bora.
