Mariah Carey has had one trying year thus far, with a divorce from Nick Cannon and reports that the diva is struggling to perform the way she once was able to. Yet, Mimi has certainly come back full force and let the public know that she’s going nowhere, and has made a series of changes to complement her fierce and steadfast attitude of late. From a new beau to a successful Vegas residency and a change of representation, this mother of two is continuously reminding us why it is she’s been such a superstar in showbiz for over 3 decades.
Once the divorce rumors began swirling back in late 2014, opinions were rampant that Mimi would be the one to suffer from the split. However, that could not be further from what has actually transpired since she and Nick went their separate ways. Worries that Mariah would struggle to support herself, as ridiculous as that sounds, were making the rounds.
Flash forward 8 months, and Mariah has found herself a billionaire Aussie boyfriend who she is now residing with in Malibu. As H ollywood Take shares, James Packer and Mariah have reportedly rented a beachfront property using Airbnb and costing $10 000 per night at Billionaire’s Beach. Details about the property help visualize just how lavish the setting and surroundings are that the couple is enjoying.
“[A] romantic Mediterranean villa located right on the sand. It’s 3,764 square feet, comes with four bedrooms, four bathrooms, and a living room with a fireplace, a Jacuzzi, a gourmet kitchen, a master suite with a fireplace that takes up the entire second floor, high ceilings and a guest cottage.”
In addition to Carey’s spicy new love-life, the songstress has made smart moves in regards to her career in order to ensure that she continues to succeed and proves the naysayers wrong. Carey has continued a Vegas residency at Ceasar’s Palace and released a top hits album #1 To Infinity back in May.
As Billboard relays, Mariah has most recently made an alteration to the agency that represents her.
“ Mariah Carey has signed with UTA in all areas. She was previously at CAA. UTA will represent the Grammy winner across all areas, including music, touring, film, television, digital, licensing and endorsements. [Mariah will be]… embarking on a European tour in the spring, which UTA will put together. It will be her first tour in that continent in 13 years.”
Finally, leave it to Carey to surprise us all by jumping into the director’s chair. Mariah will be taking charge and making her directorial debut on the Hallmark channel with the film Mariah Carey’s Christmas Project. Entertainment Tempo shares that “the network announced Wednesday, [and] production will begin in the fall. The scripted film is slated to air in December as part of its annual ‘Countdown to Christmas’ programming.”
Mariah reminds us why change is a marvelous thing.
