Han Solo Spoiler Could Change, According To New ‘Star Wars’ Rumor

There are a lot of rumors floating around, but this particular Han Solo spoiler is something fans have long been discussing. However, a new Star Wars: The Force Awakens rumor suggests it has nothing to do with Harrison Ford’s character after all.

When we found out Star Wars original cast members Ford, Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia), Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca), Anthony Daniels (C3PO), and Kenny Baker (R2 D2) were coming back to reprise the beloved roles, we all wondered if this would be the last time we would see the iconic characters in film.

Please be warned that this article contain massive spoilers ahead, so read at your own risk.

Our good friends at Making Star Wars, which have very reliable sources, reported earlier this week that the Han Solo spoiler we heard early on may be a bit misconstrued. Here is what Epicstream is reporting and Making Star Wars is picking up.

“A source from the set for a popular TV series reached out to us, and said that he spoke to a fellow supporting actor who claimed that he was involved in Star Wars: The Force Awakens for a week or two. He shared some bad news about one of the major characters of the movie. Here’s the info the actor shared to Epicstream.com.

“He watched a scene being shot at Greenham common airbase in which Leia is sad and says ‘I don’t know how he will cope without him’, my source told me Han Solo dies, I quizzed him and he said he just presumed, I then asked who was she talking to, he said a couple of Wookiees but now Chewy, I asked him could you have meant that Chewy dies, he said that might of been the case, he didn’t know just that one of them does.'”

Since the source of the Han Solo spoiler is only assuming it’s the smuggler who dies, we can also assume it’s Chewbacca instead, and why not? As previously reported by the Inquisitr, the thought is that Chewbacca was saved from certain death by Han, and he owes him his loyalty.

Han Solo’s demise is not something new for Star Wars fans. Harrison Ford said his character didn’t have anywhere to go in a 2010 interview. But of course, that was before J.J. Abrams and Disney came along and revived the franchise.

At the Force Awakens panel in San Diego Comic-Con, Ford said he came back to play the iconic character because the script was amazing. Ford suggested to George Lucas that Han be killed in Return of the Jedi.

We know the original characters have aged 30 years, and the rumor is that Han Solo has had a difficult time before the events of The Force Awakens take place. We don’t know whether Han and Chewie have been together this whole time when he utters the words “Chewie, we’re home” or if they have reunited after many years.

Making Star Wars also says a source indicated a while ago Han Solo is not part of the closing scene with the rest of the characters in The Force Awakens. Even though Solo wasn’t present at the end of Return of the Jedi, the website has information that this could be the end for the sassy smuggler indeed.

“We also have to point out that Making Star Wars reported in the past that they got their hands on documents proving that the scene with Han Solo dying was filmed.

“Although I am pretty convinced that Solo will indeed die in TFA, I like the alternative this report gives us. So what if, it’s actually Chewie who dies? I think it’s a topic worth discussing.”
