President Obama And Jimmy Kimmel At The 2012 White House Correspondents Dinner

and Jimmy Kimmel both received a great deal of laughter as the two cracked jokes with those in attendance at the 2012 White House Correspondents’ Dinner.

Kimmel, the official comedian of the evening, received plenty of laughs as he poked fun at the Barack Obama with his opening line:

“Remember when the country rallied around you in the hopes of a better tomorrow? That was hilarious. That was your best one yet.”

With the president fair game, pop icons such as Rush Limbaugh, Kim Kardashian, Keith Olbermann, and Lindsay Lohan certainly weren’t spared the onslaught of comical jabs. Kimmel at one point advised heroic pilot Chesley Sullenberger to be extra cautious when giving Lohan a ride back to her place as he was quoted by USA Today having said:

“Make sure you don’t run into a goose – a Grey Goose.”

Obama cracked some jokes at the expense of Hollywood’s top stars, including Donald Trump and Kardashian. He told the audience of journalists and celebrities at the Washington Hilton:

“My fellow Americans, we gather during a historic anniversary. Last year at this time, in fact on this very weekend, we finally delivered justice to one of the world’s most notorious individuals.”

Rather than displaying an image of Osama bin Laden, the terrorist mastermind he alluded to, he instead displayed an unflattering photograph of Donald Trump and the audience burst out in laughter at the silly gag. He eventually ended his clever speech with a joke at the expense of the U.S. Secret Service, in light of the recent Colombian prostitute scandal, as he said:

“I have to get the Secret Service home in time for their new curfew.”

At this year’s 2012 White House Correspondents’ Dinner, was it Jimmy Kimmel or Barack Obama who provided the comical relief?
