WWE News: Undertaker And Sting Will Appear At ‘SummerSlam’ — Will They Finally Have A Match?

There has been some speculation stemming from a rumor on Reddit that WWE legend The Undertaker would be appearing at this Sunday’s WWE Battleground show, and there’s a possibility that he may, but if not, he will be returning to WWE television very, very soon. Possibly as soon as next Monday night on RAW.

The Undertaker isn’t the only one who will be returning to WWE television in the near future, as Sting is also scheduled to be making his return at some point before next month’s SummerSlam as well. This is all according to well-respected professional wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer.

“I just know that, as things stand right now, Undertaker and Sting are going to be at SummerSlam. So, there was a rumor going around about The Undertaker being at the pay-per-view on Sunday, and I don’t know that that’s wrong, but in trying to find out if that’s true I found out that he’s going to be at SummerSlam.”

“I knew about Sting, but it was kind of like an off-the-record thing, and it was confirmed to me on-the-record today, so they’re both on the show. I don’t know exactly what it is, but it will not be a surprise come SummerSlam. I don’t know when the names are going to come out during the build up, but they will be out well-before the show. It’s not like there’s going to be some surprise.”

Meltzer also noted that both Sting and Undertaker may show up as surprises at this Sunday’s WWE Battleground show, but he doesn’t really know what their role is. It was also pointed out that Sting is not retired, and that WWE is factoring him into their plans for WrestleMania 32.

As for The Undertaker, if he does appear at this Sunday’s show, he may end up costing Brock Lesnar his match with Seth Rollins. Now, that could mean that Lesnar and Undertaker will have their WrestleMania rematch at SummerSlam since Undertaker will be there, but it also could lead to nothing as well.

Another thing that Meltzer brought up was that there is a reason that Paul Heyman keeps mentioning The Undertaker’s name, and that WWE probably will end up doing something with Lesnar and Undertaker in the future, even if it doesn’t involve the two of them having another match.

There could be people who see that both Undertaker and Sting will be appearing at SummerSlam and think that the two of them are going to wrestle each other at the show. But, that likely isn’t the case, and they’ll likely begin the build up to Sting vs. Undertaker at SummerSlam, and the match itself will take place at WrestleMania 32 next year.

So, expect to see both The Undertaker and Sting on WWE television sooner rather than later, unless of course WWE changes their plans, which, at this point, is very unlikely.
