‘Call Of Duty: Black Ops 3 Juggernog Edition’ Sold Out, ‘Der Riese’ Only In Special Editions

Pre-orders for the Call of Duty: Black Ops III Juggernog Edition didn’t last long following yesterday’s leak and announcement at San Diego Comic-Con. The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One Collector’s Edition quickly sold out as gamers showed they were willing to drop $200 on a themed mini-fridge. That Der Riese remake though, it won’t be available in the standard edition.

Destructoid was the first to notice the Black Ops III Juggernog Edition was sold out and a quick scan of retailers Amazon, Best Buy, and GameStop confirms this. Meanwhile, other major retailers such as Target and Walmart don’t even have it available for pre-order.

If you said to yourself, “I bet these are already being sold on eBay” you are 100 percent correct. There are 23 listings on the auction site as of the time of this article with prices ranging from $265 to $500. Keep in mind that we are barely 24-hours past the announcement of the Juggernog Edition, so you can expect more as we get closer to the Black Ops III release on November 6.

If this sound sfamiliar, it’s because we saw the same sort of action with the Fallout 4: Pip-Boy Edition. Bethesda Softworks responded to the demand by working with manufacture partners to make more pre-orders available. These rolled out to various retailers in waves.

Those hoping for more Juggernog Editions being made available will have to wait see if Treyarch and Activision can work with its partners. If you can’t get one, you can always check out the video of the minifridge below (Periscope video via QajsProductions) and convince yourself that you really didn’t need to drop $200 just for this.

Meanwhile, Zombies fans will have to dole out some extra dollars if they want to play the Der Riese (“The Giant”) remake in Call of Duty: Black Ops III. The map will only be available in the Hardened Edition that is exclusive to GameStop or one of the Digital Deluxe Editions of the game. Expect to spend $20 and $30 more respectively for these.

Of course, the map will also likely be sold as DLC at some point after Black Ops III‘s launch. You can always play the 1940s-themed Zombies romp Shadows of Evil that stars Jeff Goldblum, Heather Graham, Neal McDonoguh, Ron Perlman, and Robert Picardo.

The popular “Der Riese” map originally debuted in Call of Duty: World at War and before being re-released for the first Black Ops.
