‘Teen Mom 2’ Star Kailyn Lowry Talks Divorce, Cheating Rumors On Season 6

Teen Mom 2 Season 6 premiered last night, and during the series’ debut episode, Kailyn Lowry and her husband of nearly three years, Javi Marroquin, were seen at odds after Marroquin caught Lowry receiving text messages from another man. While Lowry insisted the messages were completely platonic and nothing for Marroquin to worry about, he felt otherwise and told her he didn’t trust her to go to a concert alone.

During a video interview with OK! Magazine, via a Radar Online report on July 10, the Teen Mom 2 star opened up about the issues fans have seen, and will continue to see, between herself and Marroquin on Season 6.

“There’s a point in Javi and I’s marriage where we really considered divorce… I felt embarrassment. There were people that tweeted us and said that we weren’t going to last. So that conversation and talking about divorce wasn’t something that I wanted to open up to everybody.”

As Teen Mom 2 Season 6 continues, Lowry and Marroquin will be seen bickering and telling fans they were on “the brink of divorce,” but ultimately, they worked out their issues, and are now in a much healthier place in their marriage.

“We end up not getting divorced, so that’s good!”

As the Inquisitr previously reported, the Teen Mom 2 star has been on damage control since the trailer for Season 6 premiered months ago, and now that the season has begun, she’s sure to be even busier with her attempts at convincing fans she and Marroquin are not headed for a split. Watching the premiere, Lowry and Marroquin clearly had serious issues within their marriage, mainly trust, and for that reason, many fans have questioned whether or not she’s being honest.

During another interview with Wetpaint Entertainment at the end of last month, Lowry spoke out about considering divorce.

“We obviously were not being the most mature when we were throwing around the word ‘divorce,’ and I feel like at the time we were just trying to hurt each other, more than we were actually considering divorce. We did consider it, but at the end of the day, we worked out all of our problems.

“There was a point in our marriage that was extremely difficult… I’m not gonna give too much away, but just want yall to know it’s worth it to keep fighting.”

Teen Mom 2 Season 6 airs on Thursday nights at 10 p.m. on MTV.
