A couple of lucky bystanders in the area managed to capture on two YouTube videos part of the filming of Hulu’s mini-series adaptation of Stephen King’s book 11/22/63, starring James Franco.

As reported on the Inquisitr, Franco has been chosen to star in the Hulu mini-series of Stephen King’s book 11/22/63 , a fascinating time-travel story of a teacher who finds a way to go back in time to attempt to prevent the assassination of John F. Kennedy on November 22, 1963. The video above is an interview with King talking about the book, why he wrote it and how such an action could have changed the world.

The novel, which heads away from Stephen King’s normal horror style, is among his best received books, and the idea to adapt it to a mini-series a fascinating one indeed.

There are also two videos, uploaded to YouTube by bystanders in the area, showing the filming of the mini-series 11/22/63, named after the date of John F. Kennedy’s assassination. In the videos included at the end of the article, you can see James Franco working on the set of 11/22/63 in two different scenes. In one, he is riding a bicycle and in the other, walking down a street.

Set to air sometime in early 2016, the mini-series will star Franco playing the part of Jake Epping, the high school teacher who has the responsibility to travel back in time to attempt to stop President John F. Kennedy’s assassination using a time portal hidden in the back of his favorite diner.

In the story, he travels to 1958 where he has problems trying to fit in with his surroundings and the people there, although eventually he finds he prefers his life in the past to his normal one.

Oscar winning actor Chris Cooper, star of Adaptation, will also appear in the mini-series, playing the part of Al Templeton, the owner of the diner, who has been traveling back in time himself and becomes Epping’s mentor.

Other actors will include Erica Anderson, Joanna Douglas, Colin Doyle and Jack Fulton, and Daniel Webber will play the part of Lee Harvey Oswald.

According to IMDb , the series will run over nine episodes and will no doubt be awaited with sheer impatience by all Stephen King fans and others who love a good science fiction/mystery series.
