Man Wearing ISIS Flag Spotted In London’s Parliament Square

Photos of a man wearing an ISIS flag and strolling through London with a young child on his shoulders were taken by a Korean tourist Saturday, days before the anniversary of the 7/7 terror attacks in that city.

After being posted on a forum by the Korean tourist, the photos were uploaded to LiveLeak and show the man casually strolling among tourists outside Parliament Square, with a young girl on his shoulders waving yet another, smaller flag.

The timing of the sighting of this ISIS flag is significant, as it occurred just days before the anniversary of the 7/7 terror attacks in London.

The photos were originally posted on a Korean online forum after the tourist spotted the man in central London Saturday. One image shows the man passing a group of scouts, and the second shows the young girl waving the smaller flag.

According to the Mirror, the Metropolitan police in London have confirmed that officers did notice and stop the man, but reportedly they couldn’t do anything as he was not breaking the law.

“This man was spoken to by officers with consideration given to relevant legislation and a decision was taken by officers at the time that the man was acting within the law. He was not arrested.”

The spokesman added that “wearing, carrying, or displaying of an emblem or flag, by itself, is not an offence.” However, the way in which it is carried or the circumstances surrounding the incident might raise reasonable suspicion that the person is a member or supporter of the organization.

In this case, apparently supporting or being a member of ISIS is unlawful, but it is no criminal offence to “advocate the creation of an independent state” by carrying an ISIS flag.

This incident of the man strolling the city wearing an ISIS flag happens days after 30 British tourists were gunned down by an ISIS militant on a Tunisian beach and just as London is about to commemorate those lost in the 7/7 terror attacks.

The July 7, 2005, London bombings, referred to as 7/7, consisted of a series of coordinated suicide bomb attacks in central London, which targeted civilians using the public transport system during the morning rush hour.

Three Islamic extremist men detonated three bombs in various areas on the London Underground, while the fourth exploded a bomb in a public transport bus in Tavistock Square. Besides the bombers themselves, 52 civilians were killed, and more than 700 injured in the attacks.

The Inquisitr recently reported on the debacle after CNN reported sighting an ISIS flag in a Gay Pride Parade. The flag spotted in London appears to be the real thing.
