A Florida man was arrested after his teenage girlfriend’s mother found out about their sexual relationship via Twitter messages and reported him to police, according to Orlando Sentinel .
Alejandro Martinez-Rosario, 21, of Kissimmee met the then-14-year-old girl via Twitter and began exchanging private messages. The two also exchanged messages on Instagram.
In February, when an incident occurred at the teen’s home, she ran away with him for four days and resided at the Budget Inn on West Vine Street.
It was also where the pair met face-to-face for the first time, and had a sexual encounter.

When the teen returned home, her mother – whose name has not been released — discovered that she had ran away from home with her new boyfriend. Assuming Rosario was 18, the mother told her daughter that she wanted to meet with him to set some rules because of the age difference, according to WFTV Orlando .
However, when she learned he was actually a 21-year-old man, she immediately informed the police that Rosario was involved with a minor.
In May, the mother discovered that the two had a sexual relationship via Twitter, where the two had a full discussion about their previous sexual encounter, and what occurred during sex.
The teen later admitted to authorities and to her mother that she did have sex with her adult boyfriend, once while at the Budget Inn hotel.
When Kissimmee police was notified, they made several attempts to meet with Rosario, but he refused to cooperate; therefore, a warrant was issued for his arrest, according to My Fox Orlando .
Rosario turned himself in Wednesday morning following a warrant for his arrest. He now faces lewd and lascivious battery on a minor.
While in custody, Rosario told investigators that the sex was consensual, and that his 15-year-old girlfriend initiated the sex.
In Florida, the age of consensual sex is 18 years old.
After having sex with a minor, Rosario is now being held at the Osceola County jail where he awaits his court date.
