Taylor Swift Doesn’t Know What The 5th Single Will Be, Promotes ‘Bad Blood’ Instead
Is Taylor Swift’s “New Romantics” going to be the fifth single off her critically acclaimed 1989 album? Fans have been wondering if the singer would make the bonus track the next single. It all started when a fan on Tumblr claimed that Swift finished filming a music video for the popular song. Fans have been dreaming about a “New Romantics” music video that would be the perfect mix of “22” and her concert videos.
Taylor Swift took her infamous Tumblr blog to quash those rumors. She wrote, “Why? Where? Who How? I don’t even know what the next single is yet!! Let’s all take deep breaths in and out and watch ‘Bad Blood’ again on VEVO. Because that is the only single I know of currently. #NON FICTION WITH SHIFTY SWIFTY #ONE THING AT A TIME #GOOD ENERGY THO”
It looks like the singer is still ruthlessly promoting her “Bad Blood” single. Swift should relax a bit though. The music video broke the record for the most views within a 24-hour span. It seems like Swift is going to wear out the single and music video until she releases another one.
Her 1989 album dropped to no. 2 on the Billboard 200 last week. It’s also been stuck in the Top 10 for the first 32 weeks since its release. As long as people keep buying 1989, then she will keep releasing ne wsingles.
On the other hand, Taylor needs to feed into the hype. It doesn’t take long for most artists to work on a new video, let alone a new album. Fans get bored with their favorite artists and move onto the next one. Artists have to keep feeding the hype, so it wouldn’t be surprising if Taylor started working on her next single.
Maybe Taylor Swift just wants to take a break as she focuses on her 1989 world tour and her relationship with Calvin Harris. It seems like the couple has been making their relationship Instagram official. Swift not only posted one but two photos of Harris on her Instagram page. It seems like it’s getting serious!
First Taylor shared a photo of Calvin Harris sharing a laugh with her friends Gigi Hadid and Karlie Kloss. She referred to them as some of her “favorite” people. Taylor wasn’t doing it to declare her love for the DJ. In fact, she was doing it for National Best Friends Day on Monday, June 8.
The singer tweeted the black-and-white photo along with the message: “I took a photo of my favorite people–they were laughing so hard, the lens couldn’t capture it fast enough.”
Swift and Harris also enjoyed a pool day in the steamy Los Angeles sun. The couple cozied up to each other in an inflatable swan that’s floating on an infinity pool. It must be nice to be Taylor Swift.
The singer isn’t usually this open about her relationships, especially on social media. It’s even weird for fans and the media to see Taylor being so open about her relationship with Calvin, as if it’s no big deal. Hopefully this relationship last longer than the rest of Taylor’s relationship, which had a lifespan of 3 to 6 months.
