The New ‘Mean Girls’ App Is So Fetch, Mobile App Lets You Be Plastic Too

That’s so fetch.

If you’re a fan of the movie Mean Girls, then you won’t want to miss the new free-to-play mobile app from Pocket Gems later this year.

The choose-your-own-adventure mobile app lets users dive into the Mean Girl world and join the plastics, or emerge as their arch enemy.

Maybe you could make fetch happen.

Game spokesman Jameel Khalfan told the Hollywood Reporter the movie makes a great fit for the mobile app platform.

“Even though it’s been a while since the movie came out, it’s been a favorite for people at the company. You as a user make choices that can affect the storyline. What clothing you are wearing, what you do, the characters that you talk to, every choice you make will affect what happens in the story.”

The game picks up where the movie ends and users can dive into the Mean Girl world sans the Cady and Regina drama.

Players enroll in the fictional high school as seniors and then choose their own adventure as they interact with characters from the Mean Girls film.

The choose-your-own-adventure mobile app is being written by Kirsten Smith and Marcy Kelly, and promises to be almost as fun as the original Mean Girls movie by Tina Fey.

In the original Mean Girls film, Lindsay Lohan stars as incoming high school senior Cady, who falls in with the exclusive plastic clique. She and a few friends plot to bring down popular senior Regina, and chaos ensues as the two compete for Aaron Samuel’s heart.

The free-to-play game is the latest addition to the Mean Girls world. In 2009, Paramount aided in the creation of the puzzle game Mean Girls DS and earlier this year, So Much Drama Studios released Mean Girls: The Game for iOS, according to the Verge.

The choose-your-own-adventure app promises to app add the storytelling ability of Pocket Gem’s Episodes Technology to the Mean Girls world.

The company has used Episodes in the past to allow users to create their own fictional worlds, and has hired writers to flesh out the adventures.

Mean Girls is now available to watch on Netflix, but there’s a deleted Regina scene you won’t see on the streaming service.

It’s a friendly bathroom scene at the Spring Fling between Regina and Cady, with a cameo by Regina’s cool mom, Amy Poehler.
