Beyoncé GMA Announcement: Singer Reveals She’s A Vegan After Slamming Vegans

Fans were excited to see Beyoncé on Good Morning America on Monday morning. The performer teased that she was going to make a big announcement. Is she dropping a new album? Is she pregnant? Nope. Beyoncé revealed she’s a vegan.

On Monday, June 8, Queen Bey delivered an important message to her fans. The singer revealed that she’s been on the plant-based diet to lose weight and to keep the weight off. The famous performer revealed that she’s struggled with her weight for years, but after trying veganism, she’s noticed a great difference in not only her appearance but with how she feels.

“I am not naturally the thinnest woman. And I have struggled since a young age with diets. And finding something that actually works for me and actually keep – keeps the weight off has been difficult for me.”

The performer was on a strict diet that included three meals a day, 30 minutes of exercise, and lots of water. This plant-based diet also offered some beauty benefits for the already beautiful entertainer.

“I felt like my skin was really firm, a lot tighter than when I deprived myself of food and got the weight off fast. The weight stayed off.”

Fans already knew that Beyoncé and Jay Z were on a similar vegan diet back in 2013. The power couple went on a 22-day diet that included plant-based meals. Beyoncé and Jay Z teamed up with nutritionist and friend Marco Borges after they celebrated the rapper’s 44th birthday. In an interview with the New York Daily News, Borges revealed how the couple came to him about the vegan challenge.

“Jay and B decided they wanted to take the 22-day vegan challenge. They came to me and said ‘We’d love to do your 22-day vegan challenge. It would be fun, it would be cool, it would be like a spiritual cleanse. And we’d love to share it with our friends. And I thought, ‘Wow! Oh my god. Mind blowing!'”

Bey and Jay even updated the ongoings about their diet on Tumblr and Instagram. In Beyoncé’s GMA announcement, she suggested that her fans should also embrace veganism.

This comes on the heels of an interview when Beyoncé revealed that she’s not vegan at all. At least not full-time anyway. In an email interview with the New York Times, Bey said that she didn’t want to be referred to as a vegan.

“First it’s important that you know I am not a vegan. There’s a negative stereotype. You picture someone who lives in Colorado that doesn’t wear deodorant.”

Talk about reinforcing stereotypes. Now it seems like she doesn’t mind being associated with vegans. Maybe Bey is working on a new cookbook or service with Margo. There’s always a method behind her madness.

Fans aren’t happy with their Queen Bey. Some of the “Beyhive” took to Twitter to claim their disappointment over the singer’s big announcement on Good Morning America, as previously reported via the Inquisitr. It sounded like a plug for Borges’ vegan diet. Some fans even took to Instagram to spam Bey’s photos with emojis of fast food items like French fries, hamburgers, chicken thighs, donuts, cakes, and more.

Even Beyoncé can’t mess with her own Beyhive. You don’t want to disappoint these folks!
