‘Fear The Walking Dead’ Spoilers: ‘House Of Cards’ Star Joins The Cast, Plus Robert Kirkman Promises ‘More Chaos’

AMC’s newest zombie drama, Fear the Walking Dead, has added another cast member to its lineup. According to Deadline, Sandrine Holt will join Season 1 of the show as the bold and competent Dr. Bethany Exner.

Holt’s appearance on AMC’s newest horror drama isn’t the first time she has graced the small screens. Holt has appeared in numerous television and movie roles, including House of Cards, The Returned, Underworld: Awakening, and Terminator Genisys. Additional details concerning her role in the new series have yet to be released.

Fear The Walking is an off shoot of The Walking Dead and takes place during the very beginning of the zombie outbreak while Rick Grimes was in a coma.

While little is known about major plot details, the series will focus on a group of individuals residing in Los Angeles. Curtis and Dickens will be playing the lead roles in the series as Travis and Madison, two school teachers who are in a relationship when the zombie virus breaks out.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Robert Kirkman explained how the show begins at the earliest part of the outbreak.

“We’re very early, but if you think about the way a zombie outbreak would happen, it would happen very organically,” he stated in the interview. “In pockets of civilization there would be news stories that didn’t really make sense and didn’t seem connected.”

He also revealed in a phone interview with Fangoria that Fear would be more chaotic than The Walking Dead.

“There’s probably going to be more chaos in the first season [of the companion series] and moving into the second season just because we are going to watch civilization crumble. There is a tremendous amount going on, and the story is going to move very quickly, so I anticipate Fear the Walking Dead is going to be more hectic than the first season of The Walking Dead,” he added.

Fear the Walking Dead stars Cliff Curtis (Live Free or Die Hard) as Travis, Kim Dickens (Gone Girl) as Madison, Alycia Debnam-Carey (Into the Storm) as Alicia, Elizabeth Rodriguez (Orange is the New Black) as Liza, Frank Dillane (Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince) as Nick, Mercedes Mason (Chuck) as Ofelia, Rubén Blades (Safe House) as Daniel, and Lorenzo James Henrie (Star Trek) as Chris, plus the addition of Sandrine Holt (House of Cards) as Dr. Bethany Exner.

Fear the Walking Dead is set to air in August on AMC. Season 6 of The Walking Dead will begin on AMC on either October 11 or October 18, 2015.
