Sean Lowe To Swap Wives With Another ‘Bachelor’ Alum

Sean Lowe may have met and married his Bachelor love, Catherine Guidici, more than a year ago. However, the Lowes are still part of the Bachelor family, so much so that Sean is swapping Catherine for the wife of another Bachelor alum, Jason Mesnick.

Only temporarily, of course. As Us Weekly reported, the two couples have filmed an episode of Celebrity Wife Swap. While Catherine has her hands full with the Mesnicks’ two children, Jason’s wife, Molly, will be hanging out with Sean.

It won’t be the only place the Lowes and Mesnicks will be seen on television this summer. The couples, along with current Bachelorette Kaitlyn Bristowe, will face off against pros from Dancing with the Stars in an episode of Celebrity Family Feud.

In addition to their attempts to find television love, Sean Lowe and Jason Mesnick have another connection. They are both married to the women they met on the show. However, in Mesnick’s case, the circumstances of the engagement to Molly were a bit more dramatic. He initially chose Melissa Rycroft as the winner of The Bachelor, but during the After the Final Rose special, Mesnick revealed he was actually in love with Molly, his runner-up.

Molly and Jason celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary in February. Catherine and Sean celebrated their first year of marriage in January.

Sean Lowe commented on this season’s controversial “two bachelorette” twist, where Kaitlyn Bristowe and Britt Nilsson were subjected to a vote by their 25 suitors to decide who would ultimately give out roses. The reporting of Lowe’s opinions led him to write a blog post to defend the Bachelor franchise after media outlets implied he had bashed the television institution.

“[M]y passion for this franchise runs deep. I recognize that it’s often a silly, even ridiculous reality show based on bikini clad women in hot tubs and helicopter picnics on mountain tops, but it’s also where I met my wife and that means something to me. I want to protect this silly franchise even when I feel like I need to protect it from itself. ‘The Bachelor’ has become an odd little piece of American pop culture and I’m proud to say I’ve played a small role in it. I’ll probably never stop trying to safeguard it.”

Celebrity Wife Swap airs Wednesdays on ABC. The Bachelor and Dancing with the Stars episode of Celebrity Family Feud airs Sunday, June 21 at 8pm on ABC.
