New Chrome Xbox 360 Controllers Coming Out in May
If you’ve been in the need for a new Xbox 360 controller, you might want to hold off for just a bit. Microsoft announced today that this May, they’ll be releasing a new line of wireless limited edition Chrome Xbox 360 controllers.
The new “Special Edition Chrome” Xbox 360 controllers will come in your standard white color, but a blue and red version will also be available. Microsoft’s Major Nelson says that colors and availability will vary by region, so it isn’t clear exactly where the blue and red colors will be available. Additionally, Major Nelson says that the new Chrome Xbox 360 controllers will set you back $54.99 when they’re released in May, a mere $5 more than your standard wireless Xbox 360 controller.
Microsoft’s new line of Chrome controllers will also make use of the new transforming D-Pad that Microsoft introduced into its previous line of Xbox 360 controllers, so if you can’t stand the original Xbox 360’s D-Pad, there’s another reason for you to go Chrome.
I’ll definitely be picking one of these up but, as slick as the new controllers look, I’m not looking forward to having to clean the controller every few days to get rid of thumb prints and what have you.
What about you? Do you like the new Chrome Xbox 360 controllers?
