Linda Thompson On Ex-Husband Bruce Jenner’s Transition Into Caitlyn: ‘This Changed My Life Forever’
Linda Thompson has spoken out about her ex-husband Bruce Jenner’s new life as Caitlyn. In addition to taking part in Jenner’s interview with Vanity Fair, Linda Thompson, Jenner’s second wife, shared a heartfelt message with fans on Instagram on June 1.
“This changed my life forever…but it is so not about me. It’s been an amazing journey & transition…challenging to understand & accept at times…but I am grateful for so many kind, intelligent, evolved hearts who have risen to that challenge…life is a complex, variant, beautiful gift to be lived authentically by each of us.”
Linda Thompson was married to Jenner for four years, and the former couple had two children, sons Brandon and Brody, who are often seen on episodes of Keeping Up With The Kardashians.
During her interview with Vanity Fair, as reported by E! News, Jenner revealed she had told Linda Thompson about her gender dysphoria a short time before their marriage came to an end.
“The gender issues were big at that time. I had ignored them for so long, but I was aging.”
In response to Jenner’s revelation, Linda Thompson said, “I thought my pain doesn’t compare to the pain that he’s in. At least I’m comfortable living in my own body.”
As the Inquisitr previously reported, Linda Thompson is among many members of the Jenner/Kardashian bunch, who have recently revealed their thoughts regarding Jenner’s transition. Just hours prior, Kim Karadahian spoke to Access Hollywood, revealing brother Rob Kardashian’s reaction.
“Why are you sending me this? Who is this woman and why do I care?” Rob asked, according to Kim.
Upon first glance Rob had no idea the woman on the cover of Vanity Fair was actually his step-father, the man who raised him, but later decided it was a woman, who she was meant to be.
“I was like, ‘Rob, that’s Bruce — that’s Caitlyn.’ And he was like, ‘Oh my god, she’s beautiful.'”
Ester Jenner, mother of Caitlyn, also spoke to Access Hollywood, telling the entertainment news program, “She’s beautiful! I was there last week, well actually, I got home a week and a half ago, and I met Caitlyn. She is … so much more at ease.”
“I still have to call him Bruce. His father and I named him that … it’s going to be a struggle for me to get used to the change, but happily so. I’m very happy for him — or her!”
Linda Thompson remains a big part of Caitlyn’s life, and recently threw their daughter-in-law, Leah Jenner a baby shower.
