Kate Middleton Returning To Work Next Month, Queen Elizabeth Wants Duchess To Attend Her Birthday

Kate Middleton is set to make a speedy return to her royal engagement duties, after it was alleged that the Duchess Of Cambridge will be back at work in under three weeks time.

The International Business Times have reported, via the Huffington Post, that Kate Middleton will be back at work on June 13 for Queen Elizabeth II’s birthday parade. In fact, the Queen herself is believed to have insisted that Kate Middleton’s presence is mandatory at the soiree.

If Kate Middleton did make an appearance at the event then it would be just six weeks after she gave birth to her second child, Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana, who was born on May 2, 2015, and is currently the fourth in line to succeed Queen Elizabeth II on the throne after her grandfather Prince Charles, her father Prince William, and her elder brother Prince George.

It had previously been speculated that Kate Middleton would be looking to enjoy a longer maternity leave than she managed with Prince George. And if she does return for Queen Elizabeth II’s birthday parade she will actually get her wish. But only by three days, because it comes 42 days after she gave birth to Princess Charlotte while she enjoyed 39 days off after Prince George was born.

What makes the Queen’s request even cheekier is that, technically, it isn’t even actually her birthday on this date. Queen Elizabeth II was born on April 21. However she celebrates her official birthday on a Saturday in June.

This is so the gathering crowds can bathe in warmer weather for the traditional military ceremony the Trooping Of The Colour, which is followed by an air show. The entire Royal Family watch these proceedings from the balcony at Buckingham Palace.

Prince William has been back at work and attending royal engagements since May 18, which saw him attend a United For Wildlife talk in Switzerland.

Kensington Palace are yet to officially confirm any of the Duchess of Cambridge’s first public appearances following the birth of Princess Charlotte.
