‘Batkid Begins’ New Trailer Released, Might Leave You In Tears [Video]

Batkid Begins: The Wish Heard Around the World is already promising to be the most touching documentary of 2015.

It shows the story of five-year-old leukemia patient Miles Scott, who got the chance to patrol the streets of Gotham (San Francisco) nabbing villains and saving damsels thanks to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The story highlights the amazing extent people will go to make the little boy’s wish the best day possible.

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, hundreds volunteered in November, 2013 participated, and the hashtag #Batkid blew up around the world. He waded through crowds of cheering fans with Batman at his side and saved a woman who had been tied up by the notorious Riddler and rescued the San Francisco Giants’ mascot Lou Seal from the Penguin.

President Obama, Ben Affleck and many more thanked Batkid for his service cleaning up the streets, according to the Wall Street Journal. The U.S. attorney general also thanked him for capturing the Riddler and the Penguin.

His day ended in front of City Hall, when Batkid received the key to Gotham City.

Batkid’s story captured the hearts of many people, including Julia Roberts, who is making the Batkid Begins document with Warner Bros Studios.

According to CNet, the documentary will show the behind-the-scenes scramble to make the massive wish come true, especially the efforts of San Francisco Make-A-Wish Foundation Executive Director Patricia Wilson.

The movie also looks at what happened after Batkid’s big day in Gotham.

Batkid Begins will hit select theaters June 26 this year.
