Louis CK has a reputation for edgy stand-up comedy. Most of his fans are used to his blend of observational humor and shock comedy. But when Louis CK brings his jokes to an audience as mainstream as Saturday Night Live , things don’t go as well. A previous report from the Inquisitr covered the now-infamous monologue that Louis CK delivered, joking about topics of racism and pedophilia — even making the joke that child molestation must be really good if pedophiles risk so much to do it. Since the monologue, the veteran comedian has dealt with a storm of outrage and criticism.

According to Us Magazine , British comedian James Corden came to the defense of Louis CK on his program, The Late Late Show. When he was asked about the controversy over the monologue jokes, Corden insisted he didn’t know whether or not Louis should have made them, but did say that it’s totally okay to be offended by them.

“I think it’s a constant, it’s a constant discussion. I mean, I don’t think it’s for me to say. All I could say is that it’s alright to be offended. It’s okay!”

It’s important to note that Corden himself said he wasn’t offended by Louis CK’s monologue, which may affect his reputation in the matter. While he did grant people the “right” to be offended, he belittled the offense people took by comparing it to a body function as natural as hunger — as if to say, it’s a common feeling that everyone gets over eventually.

“But it’s okay to be [offended]!” Corden said. “Ultimately, I think we all withhold the right to offend or be offended. Like somehow being offended has become a thing — like, okay, you’re offended, in the same way that you’re hungry. You know what I mean? You are offended… that’s it!”

According to TV Week , Corden is not the only one coming to the support of Louis CK. Many users on Twitter sent out tweets defending the jokes.
