Jennifer Lawrence Looks Worried In Latest ‘Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2’ Poster

If the latest Hunger Games images to be released are anything to go by, Jennifer Lawrence has plenty to worry about as Katniss Everdeen in the final movie installment of the Hunger Games trilogy (which was broken up into a quartet for the big screen), Mockingjay Part 2 . Although maybe, Jennifer Lawrence is just concerned over reports about Lionsgate changing the ending of Mockingjay Part 2 to accommodate even more Hunger Games movies?

Alongside Jennifer Lawrence in one of the new promo stills is co-star Willow Shields (who plays Lawrence’s sister, Primrose in the movies) — and her expression is even more bleak. The photo was taken by photographer Tim Palen and the image is reminiscent of an old family portrait, so it is likely this is the reason behind the solemn expressions. Although, considering what Katniss and Primrose have to endure in this final installment (if the books by Suzanne Collins are anything to go by), it is no wonder neither Jennifer nor Willow are smiling. Katniss stands behind her younger sister, apparently ready to battle in order to protect her sibling. Of course, if recent reports on how much Jennifer earns are to be compared to her co-stars, it must have been hard for the actress to keep the smile off her face for this shot!

The second promo picture, which is in fact the official movie poster for Mockingjay Part 2, is not as bleak — and doesn’t even show Jennifer Lawrence! Instead it shows the mockingjay bird in all its blazing glory. The mockingjay, of course, is a symbol of the uprising that will culminate in the conclusion of the Hunger Games movies. It is also a creature close to Jennifer’s character’s heart as the pin was given to her before she headed into her first hunger games battle. The bird also reminds Katniss of her father as well as a remembrance to Rue , the girl she befriended and watched die in the very first movie.

Alongside these new promo pictures, IGN also released a new teaser trailer for Mockingjay Part 2 , although no new footage is revealed.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 starring Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, and Willow Shields will premiere at theaters on November 20, 2015. Francis Lawrence will direct the final installment. The official synopsis is as follows:

“Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) faces mortal traps, deadly enemies and moral choices when she and her closest friends leave District 13 to launch an assassination attempt on President Snow (Donald Sutherland).”
