Carrie Underwood To Compete Against Herself For 2015 CMT Awards

Carrie Underwood has started her campaign to bring home as many CMT Awards as possible, and as the artist with the most nominations, she has a good chance of bringing home more awards than anyone else.

Of course, Carrie would have a better shot at winning the most awards if she didn’t have to compete against herself.

In total, Underwood was nominated for three awards for her solo work: “Something in the Water” earned Carrie a nomination in the Video of the Year category and the Female Video of the Year category, while Underwood earned a second nomination in the Female Video of the Year category for “Little Toy Guns.”

Carrie Underwood’s other two nominations came for collaborative work she did with Miranda Lambert. Together, Underwood and Lambert earned nominations in the Video of the Year and Collaborative Video of the Year categories for the work they did together on “Somethin’ Bad.”

On Wednesday, Underwood reminded fans via Twitter that she has been nominated for five 2015 CMT Awards.

The CMT Awards allow fans to vote in order to help choose the winners in each category. Voting opened today and will remain open until June 8. Fans can vote via CMT.com or through the CMT Mobile app.

The CMT Awards show is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. EST on June 10 in Nashville, and the event is expected to be held at Bridgestone Arena.

Finalists for the Video of the Year award will be announced at the beginning of the show, and fans will be able to vote via text message, CMT.com, or the CMT Mobile app throughout the awards ceremony. The winner of the award will be announced at the end of the show.

Not only is Carrie Underwood the leading artist with five nominations, but she’s also announced that she’ll help to kick off the 2015 CMA Fest events with two performances June 9 at the Grand Ole Opry. According to the Opry website, the appearance will be the first Opry performance by Underwood since December.

Other artists expected to help Carrie Underwood celebrate the beginning of CMA Music Fest Week include Easton Corbin and Scotty McCreery.

Underwood, who recently became a new mother in February, had not had any performances scheduled until June 26.

Will you be excited to see Carrie return to the stage? Will you vote for Carrie Underwood in any of her nominated categories?
