Rumer Willis Scores A Perfect Score on ‘DWTS’

After suffering a blow last week on Dancing With The Stars, Rumer Willis fought back this week to score perfect 10s – even from Len Goodman! Last week saw Rumer suffering from fatigue and a slight neck injury which resulted in the DWTS judges wondering if the couple had lost the sparkle present in previous weeks.

This week, however, Rumer Willis and her partner Val Chmerkovskiy danced a Rumba for this week’s America’s Choice, an event that had the audience picking both the songs and outfits for each couple. They kept the routine simple and concise, dancing to Doris Day’s “Perhaps, Perhaps, Perhaps”, a classic rumba song. But perhaps the song should be renamed, “Perfect, Perfect, Perfect” after the judges revealed their critiques along with the first perfect score on DWTS this season.

“Well, isn’t love grand. That was incredible. It wasn’t about anything else except this incredible partnership.”

Carrie Ann critiqued after Val insisted he was trying to return their DWTS routines to a place of “love” rather than “stress”.

Last week saw Rumer and Val in the bottom two but narrowly missed elimination. While the judges scathing criticism may have led to Rumer breaking down, the star managed to come back stronger this week and commit to the performance – and it paid off with her perfect score on DWTS. The pair also performed a trio dance routine, a Paso doble with previously eliminated dancer Artem Chigvintsev. This routine also resulted in a perfect score.

While there have been comments about the chemistry between Willis and Chmerkovskiy, Rumer still vowed their routine would be “explosive” – and it was good enough for their perfect score, regardless of whether there is anything going on between them off-screen.

Along with Rumer and Val, Nastia Liukin and Derek Hough also scored a perfect score on DWTS last night for their trio Jive routine with eliminated dancer Sasha Farber. Overall, the night consisted of plenty of high scores, most falling well above 30 points out of a possible 40 points.

Even with a perfect score on DWTS, Rumer and Val still have to wait until tonight to find out if they are safe from elimination. The double elimination that was postponed last week will occur tonight. You can tune in to DWTS live every Monday & Tuesday 8|7c.
