Medal of Honor: Warfighter revealed in OXM

It’s been strongly suggested in the past that EA intends to release a follow-up to 2010’s Medal of Honor reboot, and now it looks like it’s official.

Game Informer managed to pick up an early copy of the latest issue of Official Xbox Magazine, and in it EA and developer Danger Close reveal that the follow-up, titled Medal of Honor: Warfighter, is set to release this October.

Not much is known about Medal of Honor: Warfighter other than the fact that it will, like just about every other EA game lately, run on DICE’s shiny ‘Frostbite 2.0’ engine, and that the story will once again follow Tier 1 Operators.

The only other bit of news to come out of the reveal was that this time around, development on the multiplayer mode is being handled in-house this time around. You may recall that for Medal of Honor 2010, development on the multiplayer mode was handled by DICE.

The original Medal of Honor saw a release on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, so it’s likely that Warfighter will be available on all three platforms as well.
