WWE News: Ric Flair Predicts That Triple H Will Beat Sting At ‘WrestleMania’
Sting will finally make his WWE in-ring debut at this Sunday night’s WrestleMania against Triple H. While most people are predicting that “The Icon” will defeat “The Game,” WWE Hall of Famer “Nature Boy” Ric Flair is predicting that Triple H will pick up the win on Sunday night. His reason for believing this is because Triple H has lost at the last three WrestleMania’s, and while that’s actually not true — as Triple H defeated Brock Lesnar back at WrestleMania 29 — Flair may end up being correct with his prediction.
Most people are thinking that Sting will either retire or take a long vacation after this Sunday. While it’s expected that Sting will pick up the win, it’s not exactly a guarantee, as WWE is positioning this as a WWE vs. WCW match, and everybody knows how those usually end.
Sting is heavily favored in the odds to win this match, but there’s also the possibility of a rematch, or the possibility that if Sting is planning on retiring or going on hiatus after this match, that WWE will have Triple H pick up the win. This will do more for his character, which will be featured on television every single week after WrestleMania, unlike Sting.
There are reports that Sting will be returning for next year’s WrestleMania to take on The Undertaker in a double retirement match, and that the two of them will set up their match on Monday’s RAW and have a year to build it up. So, both Sting and The Undertaker winning on Sunday night would make the most sense, but nothing is guaranteed.
It’s expected that Sting and Triple H will go between 15 and 20 minutes at WrestleMania and that both of them will have very elaborate entrances. So, the segment itself should last over a half-hour.
One other thing of note is that it looks like Sting will be wrestling in a T-shirt on Sunday, which, according to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, would be pretty “low-rent.” It appears that Sting is in great shape, but during his final years in TNA, he wrestled in a T-shirt in all of his matches, and in all of his appearances for WWE, he’s showed up in a T-shirt as well. Sunday will likely be no different.
