Rihanna On Chris Brown Relationship: ‘The More We Respect Ourselves, The More Men Will Respect Us’

Rihanna has moved on from ex-boyfriend Chris Brown. The singer has been romantically linked with Leonardo DiCaprio, although neither of them has confirmed the rumored relationship. The singer is growing up and learning from her past life experiences and relationships. Rihanna recently spoke out about her intense relationship with Chris Brown.

She was quoted by News.com.au during a press conference for her new animated movie Home. The pop singer had a lot of insightful things to say about her past and future relationships. The 27-year-old believes that respect is the utmost important thing in any relationship.

“The more we respect ourselves the more men will respect us. I have both sides to me and I think most women do. We are strong but they are very vulnerable as well.”

“For me, I get very fierce and passionate about my career and about my family. But there are also things that make me become a little girl. Like, I love balloons, that definitely really brings out the little girl in me.”

Rihana also denied the rumors that she’s dating DiCaprio. She responded, “Stay off the blogs, they will srewn you every time.”

The entertainer doesn’t intend on settling down anytime soon; however, she would like to get married someday. When asked what kind of husband she’s looking for, she said that she would like a man who supports her busy career.

“Someone who could tolerate my schedule; someone man enough to do that and not get scared because I don’t have a lot of time to offer.”

Rihanna is not the wild party animal that she likes to portray on Instagram and Twitter. She would rather stay inside and binge watch her favorite shows. She said, “At home I’m pretty boring. I just lay on the couch and watch TV.”

Not only is Rihanna herself maturing, but her style is maturing as well. The singer and actress has been seen in conservative styles lately. She also became the new face for Dior. Rihanna’s fans have noticed that her style has greatly changed from when she released her debut album, Music of the Sun, back in 2005.

“I feel like my image evolves as I evolve as a woman. With growth, there’s change. My style is a reflection of my mood, my attitude wherever I am at, and you can see how it’s evolved since the beginning of my career just from my videos. And style is a huge part of that attitude.”

Fans can also expect Rihanna’s music to change as well. It sounds like she’s taking some time to perfect her rumored R8 album. She wants to distance herself from her discography of catchy hits like “Umbrella” and “We Found Love.” In fact, Rihanna says that she wants to make “timeless” music.

“I wanted to kind of just get back to… not that they weren’t real music, but I just wanted to focus on things that felt real, that felt soulful, that felt forever.”

“I wanted songs that I could perform in 15 years. I wanted an album that I could perform in 15 years, not any songs that were burned out. I find that when I get on stage now, I don’t want to perform a lot of my songs because they don’t feel like me. So I want to make songs that are timeless.”

Rihanna just released her first single, “FourFiveSeconds,” with Kanye West and Paul McCartney. The song is different from her other hits in a way that it feels like a folk song mixed with hip hop elements.
