‘Destiny’: Xur’s Location And Exotic Goods For Weekend Of January 2

Does a new year mean a new Xûr for Destiny? The Agent of Nine returned to the Tower, Friday, with a new selection of Exotic armor and weapons. And, I mean new. All of the Exotics on sale have not been offered before. The downside? They all require The Dark Below expansion for PlayStation and Xbox owners.

Xûr can be found in the very back of the bar located underneath the Future War Cult in the hangar this weekend. It’s a pretty long jog, but easy to find. Just turn left when you enter the hanger, go down the stairs to the left, and then straight back. This is where you can find him on the Tower map just to be sure though.

Destiny Xur Location - Bar (PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360)

Xûr and his items will only be available in Destiny through the morning of Sunday, January 4. As soon as the clock strikes 5 a.m. ET / 2 a.m. PT, he will be gone.

As mentioned above, this is the first showing for all of the Exotic weapons and armor on sale this weekend in Destiny. The Dark Below expansion pass is required to be able to purchase any of them. Those looking to upgrade their existing Exotic items have a good selection to choose from including the second straight week of the Gjallarhorn rocket launcher for those that missed it last weekend or during the extension.

Here is what is available for sale and upgrade from Xûr this weekend. Thanks again to DestinyDB for the Exotic information below.

For those wondering what to get, here are a few helpful hints.

Destiny - Dragon's Breath (PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360)

The Dragon’s Breath rocket launcher provides one of the larger blast radiuses for the class in Destiny. It can hold three rockets in the magazine at a time with the “Tripod” perk and the “Pyromancer” perk will leave a solar grenade effect in the place of the explosion for a few seconds. The downside to this rocket launcher is that it does not have any tracking capabilities like Gjallarhorn, Truth, or Hunger of Crota and its velocity is on the slow side.

Destiny Mk. 44 Stand Asides Titan Boots (PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360)

The Mk. 44 Stand Asides boots are for Titans in the Striker sub-class who love using the Should Charge. The “Be Somewhere Else” perk extends the time that the Shoulder Charge is available by a couple of seconds. It also allows the character to carry more Heavy Weapon ammo. If you’ve ever played a Titan in Crucible, you know that those couple of seconds of extended run time with the Shoulder Charge can be deadly.

Destiny Star fire Protocol Warlock Chest (PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360)

The Starfire Protocol chest armor for Warlocks is meant for the Sunsinger sub-class thanks to the “Starfire Protocol” perk. It allows for an additional Fusion grenade. However, this does not stack with the “Gift of the Sun” perk, so you can still only max out at two. What it does allow is for you to select either the “Angel of Light” or “Touch of Flame” perks instead. It also allows you to carry extra Fusion Rifle and Heavy Weapon ammo.

Destiny - Don't Touch Me Hunter Gauntlets (PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360)

The Don’t Touch Me gauntlets for Hunters can be used with either sub-class, but the Bladedancer playing PvE will see the most benefit due to the “Defensive Reflex” perk. This makes the Hunter invisible for a short period of time after being hit with a melee attack. This can be stacked with the Shadowjack talent to increase the duration of the invisibility. It also comes with the “Inverse Shadow” perk that gives extra super energy from killing enemies and an increase in reload speed for Special Weapons.
