Watch Auburn Vs. Wisconsin Live Online: 2015 Outback Bowl Streaming Video
Football fans can watch the Outback Bowl live online and see whether Wisconsin or Auburn can win the first matchup of a busy New Year’s Day.
The game kicks off at 12 p.m. from Raymond James Stadium, in Tampa, Florida.
For Wisconsin, the Outback Bowl is an opportunity to put a difficult few weeks behind them. The Badgers were routed 59-0 by Ohio State in the Big Ten title game, ending their seven-game winning streak.
Four days after the blowout loss, coach Gary Anderson announced he was leaving to take the coaching job at Oregon State.
“I had no idea this was in the works,” said Wisconsin athletic director Barry Alvarez, who is taking over coaching duties. “Gary felt like this was an opportunity for him and his family to get back to that part of the country.”
Alvarez said his focus is on ending the season strong for the Wisconsin players.
“I just couldn’t tell those kids no,” Alvarez said. “It bothers me that the kids have to go through this. Change is difficult for them.”
Fans who watch the Wisconsin vs. Auburn game live online will see the end of the line for Badgers running back Melvin Gordon, who led the nation in rushing with 2,336 yards. Gordon, the Heisman Trophy runner up, said he is forgoing his senior season to enter the NFL draft.
“This is important to me, my teammates, the seniors and the university,” Gordon said. “No one knows how it feels to win a bowl game. We went through a lot of adversity, and we’re just hoping this bowl game can change the way we look at the season.”
Viewers might not get to see much passing, ESPN noted. Auburn also has a run-heavy attack, averaging 258.5 yards on the ground per game.
The game will have a deeper meaning for Auburn. Redshirt freshman Jakell Mitchell was shot to death on December 14, the fourth Auburn player to die in the last three years and the third to die in a shooting at the same apartment complex near campus.
