Chris Brown Had To Cancel His New Year’s Performance — The Reason Will Make You Laugh

Chris Brown has cancelled his New Year’s Eve performance in the Philippines because he lost his passport. Organizers of the event reported Brown’s cancellation on Wednesday, claiming that Chris was stuck in Los Angeles.

According to Page Six, Brown announced the cancellation via his Twitter account, but he chose to leave off the embarrassing explanation as to why. “Due to unfortunate circumstances I can’t bring in the new year with you…” Brown wrote.

Maligaya Development Corp., the organizers of the event, claimed they were informed by Brown’s representatives this afternoon (Wednesday) that the musician was stranded in America and wouldn’t be making it in time for the late night performance. Chris Brown broke the bad news only a few hours before he was expected to perform, and he was stranded on an entirely different continent. The company released a clearly bitter statement about Chris Brown’s cancellation, expressing some obvious contempt that he broke his contract.

“According to them, Chris Brown lost his passport the day before the scheduled event,” said the organizers. “Hence despite having entered into a contract with us, Chris Brown would not be able to comply with his obligation to perform.”

Chris was scheduled to perform at the Philippine Arena in Bocaue, Bulacan. The venue seats 55,000 people and will feature a fireworks show and performances from several musical artists–no longer including Chris Brown.

While Maligaya Development Corp. seemed fairly annoyed by Brown misplacing his passport, the recording artist has apparently gotten over the cancellation fairly quickly. According to the Daily Mail, after the initial announcement, Chris Brown sent out the following carefree tweets:

Chris Brown has been in the news recently for pledging his devotion to his on-and-off girlfriend Karrueche Tran. After realizing that he tends to hurt those around him, Brown has promised to man up and start treating his mother and girlfriend better.

Brown has since released a public apology to Tran for all the times he’s hurt her, and he apologized, ironically, for allowing the private disputes of their relationship go public on social media.

“So I AM APOLOGIZING I live in a glass house and the same s*** that makes me great also is my curse. Everybody know I love that girl. I don’t care how my image my look to the public because I’m still gonna be the best at what I do. I just want baby girl to know I apologize! (sic)”
