In a recent episode of WTF Podcast hosted by comedian Marc Maron, Adam Goldberg revealed that he and girlfriend Roxanne Daner are expecting a baby boy and that the couple are now coming to terms with the tragic loss of their first child back in 2012.

“My girlfriend Roxanne is pregnant. We weren’t going to tell anybody — I mean it’s obvious. She’s gigantic. But we weren’t going to tell anyone unless you ran into her,” Golderg said in the interview, which was recorded months ago.

Goldberg has since revealed on his Twitter page that they welcomed their son four weeks ago.

Goldberg and Daner were wary about sharing the news because the couple lost their first child a couple of years back. Goldberg also opened up about the tragedy during the interview. “I haven’t said this. I haven’t talked about this at all. My girlfriend — we’ve been together for several years — we had a stillborn child about a year and a half ago. I’ve talked about it but not really in a public fashion. Totally awful, especially because I had been ambivalent of having children,” Goldberg said. The actor added , “It was four days after the due date. It was horrifying and it was also my worst fear.”

After the interview aired, Goldberg talked extensively about the tragedy on his blog. He wrote, “In March of 2013, we lost our son Bix four days after his projected due date. It was without a question the most deeply upsetting experience of my life. My pain and the pain I felt for Bix’s mother, Roxanne, was and remains ineffable. Therefore I will not attempt to describe it.”

The post goes into detail about what was going on through Goldberg and Daner’s minds right after the incident, including their aversion to support groups. “Niether of us wanted to belong to this club. We went to one meeting for grievers like us and we never went back.” He added, “The grief of these survivors, unconsolable and years old in some cases, was too much, too discouraging for us. We would heal. We would tackle the pain, immerse ourselves in it, let its miserable breathtaking waves wash over us, wake us in the night. But we would not let it define us.”

He ended the post with a hopeful message welcoming their new baby boy into the world as well as posting a photo of Daner with their newborn son.
