Taylor Swift Ex-Friend Claims She Stole The Boyfriend Who Inspired ‘Picture To Burn’

Taylor Swift’s former high school friend played a part in breaking her heart, but now Taylor can thank Chelsea Alford for helping her become the mega success that she is today.

Alford recently opened up about her past friendship with Swift and the boy who came between them. According to the 25-year-old kindergarten teacher, their friendship ended when Taylor Swift got dumped by Jordan Alford, her freshmen-year boyfriend at Hendersonville High School in Tennessee. Jordan ditched Taylor to start dating Chelsea, and now the high school sweethearts are married.

Chelsea Alford told the Daily Mail that Taylor Swift’s bitter breakup tune, “Picture to Burn,” is about her husband.

“They dated in freshman year, but then after that, girl code, once you date an ex-boyfriend you’re not friends anymore. ‘Picture to Burn’ is about him. Because he’s always had big old trucks and stuff.”

Chelsea also described a fight that she and Taylor had over Jordan.

“We exchanged a few words over a locker fight. We were 14, we were just being girly, snarky.”

It was probably hard for Taylor to lose a girlfriend over a guy, but she’s doing pretty good in the pal department these days. As Yahoo! Celebrity points out, her lengthy list of famous friends includes Sarah Hyland, Lena Dunham, Ed Sheeran, Karlie Kloss, Lorde, and Selena Gomez. As the Inquistir previously reported, Taylor Swift also spent her 25th birthday hanging out with new friends Beyonce, Jay Z, and Justin Timberlake.

Most girls would love to be pals with someone that has so many friends in high places. However, during her Daily Mail interview, Alford didn’t express any regret about ruining her friendship with Swift and missing out on the opportunity to be a part of the singer’s incredible inner circle — instead she used the interview as an opportunity to make snarky, Mean Girl-esque comments about Taylor Swift and her songs.

When she found out “Picture to Burn” was about her husband, Chelsea said that she thought the song was “weird” and “kind of funny.”

Taylor Swift has talked about “Picture to Burn” in the past, and she admitted that she and Jordan didn’t actually date. However, she told Taste of Country that she felt that his bad attitude made him deserving of her vitriol.

“We almost dated. It really bothered me that he was so cocky and that’s where that song came from.”

Alford revealed that “Teardrops on My Guitar” was about another guy that Swift never actually dated, and she and her friends thought it was “a little odd” that Taylor would pen a song about unrequited love. However, musicians have been doing this for ages.

“We know other people she wrote songs about. That first record was a game, like, ‘OK, which one is this about? OK, did they even date? No? that’s weird.”

Alford took another dig at Swift by saying that many of the singer’s high school classmates didn’t take her musical aspirations seriously.

“In our case, back in school nobody thought she was actually going to go anywhere.”

Chelsea also talked about Taylor’s love life. She thought Swifty and Jake Gyllenhaal made a cute couple, but she thinks her former friend’s ideal guy would someone from across the pond. She revealed that Swift “loved to talk in a British accent” and that she was in love with Hugh Grant’s Love Actually character.

“I don’t think she’ll settle down and have a family for a while, she’s too boy crazy not too, but I think she will live it up for a while first. It sounds like she goes between crazy cat lady and dating people, it goes back and forth, why not have fun.”

Taylor Swift doesn’t need SPF with all the shade this girl is throwing her way.
